When you got to the basketball court, you saw Black Star, Tsubaki, Kid, Patty, and a Liz who didn't seem excited to be here.
Black Star and Soul decided to be captains.
After picking their teammates, Soul suggested playing punishments.
"Okay, if Black Star's team looses, he has to let Maka be his team captain for the next five basketball games." Said Soul.
Black Star's eye twitched.
"Okay, but if you loose, you have to play the piano for us again."
Soul's grin dissappeared.
"Fine."
He and Black Star shook hands.
Black Star's team consisted of you, Patty, and Kid. Soul's had Maka, Tsubaki, and Liz.
After a long game, Black Star's team won.
"YAHOO! I CAN STILL BE CAPTAIN!"
Soul groaned a bit.
"NOW GO PLAY THAT FREAKIN' PIANO!" Screamed Black Star.
"There are no pianos nearby. We'll have to wait.
Black Star grumbled and started to walk away.
Unfortunately, away meant towards you.
Black Star wasn't looking where he was going.
When you realized this, it was too late to get out of the way.
Black Star tripped and fell on top of you.
Your lips accidentally smashed together.
He opened his eyes, which widened as he rolled off of you.
"I am so sorry, (y/n)." He said, his face a little pink.
You were speechless.
"Umm just...watch where you're going next time..." You trailed off a bit.
Black Star seemed really embarrassed. You'd never seen him like that in the two days you had known him.
Until you, Soul and Maka had left, you avoided eye contact with Black Star.
When you got home, you sat on the couch still in a daze.
You had definitely felt something there. Your lips still tingled.
You couldn't possibly like Black Star. Could you?
"Um, (y/n) are you okay? You're kinda just staring off into space." Asked Maka's familiar voice.
"Oh, yeah. Yeah, I'm fine." You replied, snapping out of your daze.
You watched Maka open the fridge.
"Man, I need to go to the store. I'll be back soon, (y/n). If anyone asks, I'm at the store."
"Okay."
You sat on the couch with your favorite book.
You had read it many times, but you just can't not read it.
"Whatcha reading?" Asked Soul.
"A book."
"Duh. What book."
You then explained in great detail how wonderfully amazing this book was, thinking "If he didn't want to know, he shouldnt have asked."
After explaining the basic plot, which took a solid ten minutes, Soul looked very interested.
"That sounds like a pretty good book."
"It is. It's a great book."
"You think I'd like it? I really want more books in my life."
"Im sure you would!"
"And you're not just saying that to get me to read it?"
"Oh, fine. Maybe I am. But you should still read it."
Soul grinned. Okay, I will.
After a moment, there was a bit of an awkward silence.
"So, where's Maka?"
"The store."
Soul nodded.
After another minute, Soul started to speak.
"(y/n), I--"
"Hold that thought." You said, getting up and heading to the bathroom.
You washed your hands.
Outside the door, you heard some noises.
You could hear Soul talking. Then you heard the grating child-like voice of Black Star.
You couldn't make out what either of them were saying, but they were yelling from the living room.
You dried your hands and opened the door.
When the boys saw you, they immediately stopped fighting.
"Hi, (y/n), I just wanted to apologize again for earlier."
Black Star ran his hands through his hair.
"I wasn't looking where I was going."
Black Star was turning a little pink. Though that must be nothing compared to the shade of tomato red you probably were.
Soul punched Black Star in the arm.
"Shut it. You're embarrassing her." He whispered rather loudly.
You took some deep breaths to try to return your face to its normal colour.
"It's okay, Black Star. I accept your apology."
Black Star's shoulders relaxed.
"Good. Sorry once again." He said, beginning to head back out the door.
"See you later (y/n)."
The door closed behind him.
You looked over at soul, who seemed to be scowling.
"What's wrong?" You asked him.
"Oh, uh, nothing. Everything's fine."
His face returned to normal, and he weakly tried to smile. It was a pathetic attempt.
You grabbed Soul's shoulder, and shoved him onto the couch.
You laid him down as though he were in a psychiatrist's office, and you sat on the coffee table.
"Okay, my name is doctor (l/n)." You said.
"Tell me all your problems."
Soul smiled a bit, but this tine for real.
"Okay, well, I like this girl. This girl is really pretty and nice and funny, but two other guys like her too."
"Which guys?"
"Black Star and Kid."
"Ah, would I know this girl?"
You ruled out every possibility of it being you. For one, why would three guys all like you? The boring nobody. Also, Soul had described her as pretty, nice, and funny. You definitely weren't any of those things.
"Uh, no. No, you wouldn't know her. She, uh, doesn't go to the DWMA."
"Oh."
Soul sat up.
"Thank you, doctor (l/n). You helped me get a lot off my chest." Soul said hastily, fake smiling again.
"Glad I could help..." You mumbled, knowing you didn't really help at all.
You gave him a smile, and he held up his hand for a high-five.
You slapped it, and sat back down on the couch, getting back to your book, while Soul headed back to his room.
