Chapter 28

Tori's POV
Leigh was missing and I'm really praying that she's okay. My phone started to ring and I look to see it was Dylan calling.
"Hello?"
"Tori! You gotta help me," he says frantically.
"Dylan, what happened?"
"I've been ju-" and the line goes to static and a new voice is on the phone.

"Hi, Tori," the voice said. "You're worried about Dylan aren't you?"
"What did you do to him?! Where is he?" I say.
"If you want him, you have to go find him!"
"Listen here you sick jerk, when I find you, I'm gonna beat you with a baseball bat, got it? Leave him alone," I say, my teeth gritted.
"I'm so scared!" the voice said sarcastically.
"You should be! I will find you and I will get Dylan back."
"You're going to lose, Tori. You're going lose at this game of hide-and-seek we're about to play," the voice said.
"I'm going to win. I'm winning no matter what. Hit me with your best shot," I said.
"Bring it on," the voice said and the call drops. A text comes through.

Anonymous-The game begins now. The only weapon your using now is your brain. That's the only rule. Break it and your precious friend and boyfriend are in for it. Here's your first clue: Go to the place where there's a well, a tree, and a lake just beyond the horizon. You're smart, Tori. You know where to go.

This was my chance to get Dylan back and potentially Leigh. The next person on the list was Crystal if I can't find this person and take them down. I don't think they would want to mess with Crystal, though. Crystal wasn't going down without a fight.

Leigh's POV
I was blindfolded, with tape over my mouth, and strapped to a chair. I couldn't see or speak. It was awful. I've been like this for days. No food. I've been untied only to use the bathroom and drink water. I wasn't allowed to speak. If I spoke, I was dead.

Dylan's POV
I was just walking down the street minding my own business when I get jumped. I was out one minute and the next I'm in a room roped to a chair. A spotlight flicked onto me and someone with a ski mask walks up to me.
"Where's your phone?" they ask.
"What?" I ask.
"WHERE'S THE PHONE?!" they say start patting me down like they're the cops. They unlock my phone and dial a number.
"Hello?" it was Tori.

I speak for about ten seconds and the person takes the phone from my ear and tapes my mouth.
He steps out the room to talk to Tori. He comes back a few minutes later.
"Help is on the way. Just hope Tori comes here and you're alive," they say and blindfold me.
They walk out the room and I'm plunged into darkness once again.

Crystal's POV
I'm dancing on my bed to music and having a party by myself when Tori barges into my room.
"Hey! Knock!"
"We don't have time, Crystal!" she exclaims. "We gotta go rescue Dylan!"
"Whoa there! Who stole yo man?" I say kind of jokingly.

"No time to explain. We gotta go and we need some back up."
I get dragged out of my room against my will. Tori grabs her car keys, and we're off.
"What kind of backup are we talking about?" I asked.
"We need some strength. We need muscles," Tori says.
"I like where this is going! This is going to be fun..." I say rubbing my hands together menacingly.

Myles' POV
I was watching tv with Kalin when the doorbell rang. I get up to answer it and it's Tori and Crystal.
"We need your help Myles. We need Kalin, too," Crystal said.
"Why?" I ask.
"We'll explain in the car. Let's go," Tori said.
"What's going on?" Kalin said.
"We gotta go!" I tell Kalin. We all pile into the car and head off.
"Where are going anyway?" I ask.
"We're going to a place with a tree, a lake, and a well," Tori explained.
That sounded like riddle.

"Our middle school!" Crystal exclaimed. "Remember? There was an apple tree by that playground, the well was in the center of those tall stones by the entrance, and the lake was a few yards from the school. A guy drowned in it, I think."
"Well great! Just great! My boyfriend now has two ways to die: in a lake or down a well," Tori said.

We get the school and there's a note on the door. Tori grabs it and reads it aloud.
"'Split up.' Freaky."
"I'll go with Myles and Kalin, you go with Tori," Crystal says.
We all break and go inside the building.

Kalin's POV
Tori and I walk down the dark hallways of the school.
"I'll turn on a flashlight," Tori says and busts out flashlight. Cob webs and dust bunnies were everywhere.
"I can't believe this place was ever abandoned. It's a nice building," I said.
"Minus all the cob webs and dust bunnies," Tori scoffed.
We heard a creaking sound.
"What was that?" Tori said shakily.
We turn around to see a figure with a ski mask on and a knife in their hand. They slowly make there way towards us.
"RUN!" I yell and we sprint down hall.

We run down the hallway into a room. It was so dark, you couldn't even see your hands if you put them on your face.
"Let's try to find a light switch," I say.
We turn on our flashlights and we feel the wall. We finally find the light switch and flick it on. There were desks in the room and a chalkboard up front. It was as if the classroom was ready for a school day.

The desks were set up in a square. In the middle was Leigh strapped to a chair. She was blindfolded and had tape on her mouth. We climb over the desks and we take the blindfold, tape, and rope off her. In the same motion the door opened and we see Myles, Crystal, and Dylan.
"You guys, we gotta go. The police are coming," Myles says.
They help get Leigh untied and the lights go out. We all scream as we turn on our flashlights to see the guy with the ski mask and the knife standing right there. They grab Tori and sprint out the room.

We all chase them down the hall. Police lights flashing.
"Oh crap! We're so dead!" Crystal says.
Tori's screams echo through the hallway. We run around the corner and we see the person by the exit.
"This is the police! Come out with your hands up!"

The person runs out with Tori.
Crystal sprints at full speed and tackles them. He pins Crystal to the floor with knife in hand ready to stab. Myles runs and punches him and the knife falls out of their hands.

"Freeze!"
We all stare at the policemen with their lights blinding us. They take the guy with the ski mask and they rip the mask off their face.
"Jacob?" Tori, Crystal, and Leigh say in unison.
"Who did you think it was?" he said.
"I thought it was somebody of importance. Not a loser, who's stuck on stupid and fairy tales," Crystal says.
We all laugh as Jacob is dragged to a police car.
"You folks stay safe now, you hear?" the sheriff says.
"Yessir," we all say. We all stare as the police cars drove off one by one. Leigh turns to face Crystal.
"I'm sorry about the whole Malak thing. I'm sorry I didn't believe you and I dissed you like that. Do you forgive me?" Leigh says.
"Yes. I do," Crystal says and they hug. We all walk to the car and head home.
