Chapter 36

Tori's POV
Crystal was pretty upset that we called her parents, but she forgave us and we started hanging out again.

We were at home watching tv when the doorbell rang.
"I'll get it," Crystal said getting up off the couch.
She opens the door and screams instantly.
"JOSELYN! SAIRA! OH MY GOSH!" she said almost in tears.
Leigh and I stood up and looked to see it really was Saira and Joselyn.

Crystal jumped up on Saira and cried on her shoulder. Joselyn ran to give Leigh and me a big hug!
"I MISSED YOU SO MUCH!" Joselyn said.
We fell on the floor and Crystal yells,"DOG PILE!"
Her and Saira jumped on top of us. I was smashed at the bottom.
"Alright I can't breathe," I say laughing and we all got up.

We cried into each others arms.
"We just got used to you guys not being here," Leigh said.
"Really?" Joselyn asked.
"Yea. It took us like a week to adjust," Crystal added.
"That was the longest week ever!" I exclaimed.

It was great to have Joselyn and Saira back home.

Leigh's POV
I was so happy that Joselyn and Saira were back. It was great having them here. I thought I'd never see them again. We all went out to celebrate. We didn't stay out too late since we had work the next day. We went to Chipotle and watched about 3 hours worth of Pretty Little Liars. Just our little sacrifice. We went to sleep around 9:00 and woke up at 7:30.

"Oh my gosh! We're going to be late for work! WAKE UP! WAKE UP!" I yell.
We all run around the house getting ready for work. Joselyn and Saira were going job hunting so they had to get up as well. Tori worked at Target, Crystal worked at Best Buy, and I worked at Marshall's.

Our salaries were pretty descent. It kept a roof over our heads and food on the table so that was good.
"C'mon! We gotta go!" I said shouting from the car.
Joselyn was driving. This was going to be interesting.

"Hold on tight!" Joselyn exclaims and stomps on the gas. We started zooming down the street at like 90 miles an hour.
"I hope you know what you're doing!" I yell over us screaming.
"I do. I know a shortcut. Just hold on," Joselyn says as she makes a wide turn.

We all scream the whole way to work. I was just praying I'd make it to work alive and in one piece. Surprisingly enough, I did.
"See you guys later!" I call as I head towards the building.
"Bye!" They call back and fly down the street to Target.
The whole day went by slow.

The morning went by slow, lunch, the whole afternoon, it was crazy. The day was busy but every time I looked at the clock, only two minutes had passed. Then I got a text message from Jalen.

Jalen-Hey. Wanna hang tonight?
Me-Sure.
Jalen-Six?
Me-Six thirty.
Jalen-Okay. See you later.
Me-K. Bye

I had a date with destiny tonight.

Crystal's POV
Yay! I got to work in one piece and I'm alive. I come crashing through the door and I make it right as the store is opening.
"Crystal. You finally made it. I thought you'd never show up," my boss says.
"Well I did make it!" I said with enthusiasm.

"Well don't just stand there. Get to work!" she says sternly.
"Yes ma'am," I say and hurry off.
I worked with electronics. I had my coworker, Cassie, with me today.
"I'm so happy we get to be on our phones while we work," she says.

"Yea. We've got benefits because we work electronics so we're allowed to 'explore' our phones," I say putting air quotes around "explore."
We laughed. The morning went by pretty slow. I was just waiting for my lunch break. When it was time for lunch, I was racing towards the front door when my boss stops me.
"Not so fast," she says.
She sounds like my mother.

"What's going on?" I asked.
"You have work to make up for. You have to stay," she says.
What?! This was not happening. I just stare at her dumbfounded.

"Did you hear me?" she asks.
"Yes ma'am," I replied.
"Well then get back to you're station," she says turning me around and pushing me.
"Don't I get a raise?"
"No."

"Oh c'mon," I say turning around and facing her. "You gotta give me something. You've cut my lunch break five times this month and I get nothing for it?"
"Welcome to the real world," she replies patting me on the shoulder. She turns around and walks away. I walk back to my station hungry as ever.

"Why me?" I say staring up at the ceiling.
My phone starts buzzing. It was Myles trying to FaceTime me. I answer it.

Me-Hey
Myles-Hey. What's up?
Me-Not much. Just hungry. My boss cut into my lunch period again.
Myles-Ouch.
Me-I know right. So what are you doing?
Myles-At the studio working on some new songs. Hey Kalin! Say hi.

He turns the camera towards Kalin.
Kalin-Hey Crystal!
Me-Hey Kalin. Listen: Do you have any food by chance?
Kalin-Nope.
Me-Dang it!
Kalin-Sorry. You got cut into your lunch period didn't you?
Me-Yup
Kalin-That sucks. You'll survive though.
Me-I hope

Myles turns the camera back to him.
Myles-When do you get off work?"
Me-Five o'clock.
Myles-The whole day without food.
Me-Yup
Myles-I swing by and pick you up. Is that cool?
Me-Yea
Myles-Okay. I'll see you later
Me-Okay. Bye and bring me some food!
Myles-*laughing* Okay. Bye

I had five hours to wait on food. This was going to be an interesting afternoon.
