Montana's pov

Today I agreed to hang out with Bailey since I'm going to be leaving soon. 2 weeks to be exact. Boxes clutter my room along with trash sacks of things that I don't want or need. My thoughts are a jumbled up mess as I think of how I'm going to tell Chris.

I know it was wrong of me to except the ring but something told me that if I didn't, it would ruin our friendship but I know that I've messed up even more by excepting it.

I just can't get over the fact that he even gave me a promise ring in the first place. Was I supposed to just say no and break his heart? Of course I couldn't do that to him. But now I have bigger issues. What am I supposed to tell him? I can't just tell him out of no where, he'd hate me even more.

Once Bailey comes over we basically just sit in my room for hours and talk. "That ring is gorgeous! But you know you can't keep it." She says and i groan knowing my problems already. The night he gave it to me my mom said the same thing.

"It's too late, I already have it." I flop myself onto my bed.

"How much was it?" Bailey asks but I don't respond.

She will flip when she finds out.

"Montana I know you heard me." She tells me slapping my leg.

"Ow!!" I squeal and she giggles but soon returns to her serious face. "Ugh, okay fine. It may or may not have been $1300." I mumble the number and she gasps loudly.

"Montana!! Are you for real?" She stands from her seat on the chair by my bed. "Yes I know! But it's white gold!" I say playing with it. In case you are wondering the only time I wear it is with him. I feel too guilty to wear it all the time.

"White gold?!" Bailey asks sitting down next to me and picks up the velvet box and admires the beautiful ring.

"Yes." I say. She seems to be hypnotized so I grab it from her and set it on my night stand.

"This is terrible. You have to give it back." She tells me and I nod in agreement. "I just have to figure out when the right timing is." My phone rings and shows that Chris is face timing me. I quickly hit accept. "Hey babe!" Chris' face shows up on the screen.

"Hi, what's up?" I ask and Bailey turns her attention to the screen too. "Me and Crawf wanted to know if you and Bailey were up for roller skating tonight?" I look over at Bailey who is nodding excitedly.

"Uh, sure. Sounds fun!" I half smile.

"Great, we'll be over around 6. Is that ok?"

"Perfect."

I end the call and sigh. "I have to wear the ring." I say.

"Yeah." Bailey puts her arm around me. "It'll be fine. We're gonna have fun, right?" She asks and I nod. "And when we come home you're going to tell him. Right?"

I slowly nod my head. "Sure." Bailey jumps off the bed and grabs my hand dragging me out of my house. "Where are we going? We're not leaving until 6!" I exclaim but she just ignores me. "Get in. We're going to the mall to pick out something cute to wear." She says while shoving me into my moms car. "Bailey, I have plenty of clothes. I'm not buying anything."

"Fine, you don't have to but I'm going to." She says and I huff, starting the car. I pull out of the driveway and head towards the mall.

"Don't worry Mon, we'll be back by the time they're ready to leave." Bailey tells me. "Okay."
