the look on the man's face was filled with rage and so much hate, it scared me, even though I knew he wouldn't hurt me . . . I was afraid for Alex.
"Who are these people?" the man's voice is deep and barely audible, he seems enraged for absalutly no reason.
"Dad . . . . please." Alex says standing up, facing- i'm guessing- his dad.
"WHO ARE THESE PEOPLE?!" he yells so loud we both jump and Rosie runs over to me with a squeak. I hold onto her and look up at Alex and he stares back at me mouthing sorry.
"Dad can we do this outside." Alex says, trying to lead his dad out, but his dad slaps him so hard Alex falls to the ground and I scream.
"STOP!" I yell at his dad, I don't know why but I cant stand to see Alex hurt. I don't know what im doing when I stand up and block Alex's limp body with my skinny frame.
his dad has fire in his eyes and it burns through me so hard i'm forced to look away.
"This isn't over! and get these hobos out of my restaurant." he orders and leaves the room slamming the door so hard it shakes the walls.
I turn to Alex and lightly brush my fingers over his face, and gasp when I see a large red mark on his cheek.
I brush my thumb over it lightly and Alex flinches and my eyes fill with tears.
"You're going to be okay." I whisper, and when im about to remove my hand from his cheek, his hand quickly hold it there.
"thank you." he whispers,
