"Keith, Adriana this is a code twelve hurry." I said to them with the calmest voice I could utter. I stared into their frightened faces, I knew that this was something they should never feel as such a young age but sadly this has been their lives for the past few years. I sighed running a hand through my long brown hair. They nodded understanding what to do and they ran upstairs and into my room. I heard a slam of my door and I relaxed a bit.
I turned around to the source of the problem. There she stood with a wicked grin on her face as she swung a half empty bottle of whiskey in her had. The next thing I knew she threw it at me. I tried to dodge it but I failed as it struck me. The glass from the bottle cut into my skin, I let out a small wail as a peace hit my head. I felt the all to familiar liquid roll down my cheek. Blood was dripping down my face. She started yelling at me for making a mess on the carpet as my blood reached the ground. Every thing was hazy I couldn't even understand what she was saying as they were all mixed together.
A few slaps to the face a kick in the gut and a bunch off mean words were thrown towards me. It's better she throws all her anger at me then the twins so I just sat there, with an emotionless face as she laughed to herself. I watched her leave the house with a wicked smile on her face.
Before I went up to my little sister and brother I quickly cleaned my self up so they didn't have to see me like this so I walked over to the bathroom and got out the fist aid kit.
"Keith, Adriana open up its safe now." I spoke softly through the door as I stood on the other side of it waiting for them to unlock the door. After a bunch of jumps and wiggles of the door nob they had opened the door. they ran to me and hugged me with tear stained faces.
"Are you guys okay?" I asked searching there bodies for injures.
"Nope we good." Keith said sucking his thumb. I smiled at him and picked them both up.
"I have something to talk to you guys about." I said softly as I walked into my room and placing them on my bed. I turned around to close the door then looked back at them.
"Okay." They replied simply.
"What do you guys think about moving? Just us three. Where we don't have to worry about mum coming home early or avoiding telling anyone whats happening at home?" I looked at them searching there faces for an answer.
"We can do that?" Keith questioned in amazement. I smiled at them and nodded my head.
"I like that." Adriana said. Keith nodded his head in agreement. I smiled at them.
"Okay, we need to pack then." That night I helped them figure out which things they would bring and which things they would leave behind. Once they were done I put them in my room.
"Good night you two. We have a big day ahead of us tomorrow." I kissed their foreheads and turned off the light before I headed off to put our now packed stuff into my car. I knew that mum wasn't going to be back home until around lunch so I felt a bit better not having to worry about her coming home. Once I was done I looked through all the cabinets looking for food and drinks. I took every thing I could find other then the stuff we wouldn't use. I found the cooler and placed them in it. I went back to my room to get the two. I picked them up placing one on each hip and walked towards the car. I placed them into there car seats then went back to the house to get the few remaining things we needed.
I drove to the bank to get all of my money out so mum couldn't take it away from me since I needed it. I put my money in a different bank card that mum didn't know about. I have been working ever since I was thirteen, I always saved my money knowing I would need it one day plus I got a lot of money from dads will.
