Chapter 18

Jake's POV

Kate and I are setting up tea and coffee for Leo and his mate. Today is the official day that our packs are bonding. Some of our members are going to live on the other side of the territory and we are going to have new members on our side too. I look over at Kate and she is biting her lip. I wrap my arm around her and kiss her cheek. "Nervous?" I ask and she nods. "I never met them, I want to make a good expression." I till her head up with two fingers. "They are going to love you. But not as much as I do of course." I lay my head in her neck and kiss her mark. I feel sparks trough my whole body and I never want to leave her side. "Nobody loves you as much as I do." I say and kiss her mark again. The doorbell rings and I stand up straight. Kate gives me a peck on the lips and we walk to the front door. I open the door and I see Leo and Sarah (an: leo's mate) smiling in the doorway. I give Leo and Sarah a hand. "Good to see you both again." I say and Leo shakes Kate's hand. "It is an honor to meet you Katherine. Jake was right, you are beautiful." I see Kate's cheeks turn red. Night growls because we never made Kate blush like that. Kate pulls her hand back and she goes to Sarah. "It's really nice to meet you, I hope we are going to be friends." Kate goes for a handshake but Sarah pulls her into a hug. "Of course we can!" Sarah says enthusiastic. They pull back and they smile at each other. We let them in and I stop Kate for a moment. "Since when do you blush like that?" I ask her, her eyes widen and she puts her hands on her cheeks. "Oh no, did I blush?" I growl soft. "Yes. And if it wasn't Leo and if he hadn't have a mate I would think you liked him." Kate looks at me with her big brown eyes and she crashes her lips on mine. I kiss her back and we pull back. "Nobody loves you as much as I do." She mimics me. I smile at her and we walk to the living room.

Kate's POV

Jake and I sit down across Leo and Sarah. We all grab some coffee and let the tea for what it is. "So, I heard we decided on who was going to be Alpha and Luna." I say and Leo nods. "Yes we did. I think you two are the perfect people for that position and we are happy that we can second and third in command." I smile and grab a cookie. I see Sarah and I give her my cookie and grab another one. Sarah smiles at me and she takes a bit of the cookie. "Hmmm." She says and I smile bright. "These are amazing! Who bake these?" I point at Jake and Leo laughs. "So the big, strong Alpha is apparently a great chef." We all laugh and the rest of our conversation goes well.

Sarah and I are going for some shopping for our diner while the boys are reading books in the library aka playing video games. Sarah and I walking trough the mall and I see her looking around. "Is something wrong?" I ask her and she shakes her head. "No, its just that your mall is much smaller then ours." I giggle. "Well as long as you can shop here for a good three hours I am happy." Sarah laughs along with me. We walk into a Hollister and I see Sarah walking towards the dresses. "Do you want to wear a dress?" She asks and I shake my head. "I'm not a dress girl to be honest." I say and I look down for a moment. Sarah grabs my arm. "No worries! Everybody looks good in their own style." I smile at her. She is really a great person.
After a half an hour we are done shopping at the Hollister. I bought a blue skater skirt, a white top and a blue jacket to go with it. Sarah bought a red cocktail dress and black heels. We drive back to the pack house to get ready. I park in the garage and we walk into the house. We walk upstairs to the library. To our surprise we see Jake and Leo reading. "Oh hey girls! How was shopping?" I laugh. I point at the game controller under Leo's chair. "It was fun. How was reading?" Jake stands up and picks me up in bridal style. "Come let me show what you bought." Jake says and I laugh. Jake brings me into our bedroom and he lays me on the bed. I want so sit up but Jake crawls on top of me. "Jake what are you doing?" I ask and Jake smirks. Jake throws my shopping bags away and he looks at me. "Jake, we need to get ready for dinner." Jake pins me down to bed and he kisses me on the lips. I feel trapped and memories come up. Kevin. My eyes shot open and I begin to fight to come free. "Let me go!" I cry and Jake immediately crawls of me. "Darling?" He says I look at him but I see Kevin. He come closer. "Go away." I growl. He hold his hands up. "I would never hurt you." He says and he steps a bit closer. My back bangs against the wall and my sight isn't clear because of the tears. "Step back." I demand and he steps back. "See? I don't hurt you." He says but I growl at him. "Shut up." He hold his mouth shut like I said. I crash down on my knees and I begin to sob. He comes closer and he wraps his arms around me. I look at him and I see Jake again. I wrap my arms around him and I cry quiet in his shirt. "Shh. It's okay." He says and I nod. After two minutes I am finally able to stand up. I kiss Jake on his cheek. "I'm sorry." I say. Jake looks me in my eyes. "It isn't your fault. Are you okay now?" I nod. "Come let's get ready for dinner." I say and Jake kisses me on my forehead.

Jake is driving us to a restaurant in town and I sit next to him on the passenger seat. Leo and Sarah are sitting in the back. Jake parks in the parking lot and we walk inside the restaurant. The man behind the desk smiles at us. "Alpha, Luna! Your table for four is ready." We all smile at him. "Thank you." Jake says and we follow the man to our table. Jake pulls my chair back so I can sit. "Thank you." I say and I look at Leo and Sarah who are doing the same. Jake sits down himself and after a couple of minutes we ordered our food. Sarah and I got the salmon, Leo the turkey and Jake the chicken. Our meals are served and we have a really nice dinner.

Jake's POV

I pay for dinner with a big tip and we drive back to the pack house. Leo and Sarah walk upstairs to their room and Kate and I walk into our room. I hug Kate from behind. "Do you want to try again?" I ask her and she nods. "Just don't pin me down." I inhale her scent. "I promise I won't." I say and she turns around and she kisses me passionate on the lips. I pick her up without breaking the kiss and lay her down on the bed. I crawl on top of her and pull back. "Is this okay?" I ask and she nods. I kiss her neck and she ruffles my hair. I take of my shirt and kiss her neck again. I feel sparks fly and I see Kate biting her lip. I hear Night howl from pleasure. Kate buries her nails in my back. Suddenly Kate's phone goes off. "Just leave it." I mumble. Kate shakes her head. "Nobody calls this late if it isn't important." I sigh and crawl of her. Kate walks to her phone and she picks it up. "Hello?" She looks at me. "Mom?" I hear crying on the other side. "Mom, I can't hear you. Speak a bit slower please." Kate gasps and she slaps her hand in front of her mouth. I see tears welling up in her eyes and I run to her and hug her. "Okay." She says and she hangs up. I look at her and she wipes a tear away.
"We need to go to the hospital."
