Chapter 27

Jake's POV

Tomorrow starts the fight. I see Kate stressing more by the second. We are now training the pack, like everyday. I sigh at the sight of Kate pushing her further then she should. She is lifting weights and she tries way to much. I walk towards her and I grab the weights. They are even heavy for me. "Kate don't push yourself so hard." She sighs. "I can't, I am to nervous for tomorrow." She starts playing with her fingers, that is always a thing when she is nervous. It is pretty adorable. I grab her hands. "Everything is going to be okay." Kate looks up. "I hear in your voice that you are lying." She says slowly. I bite my lip for a bit. "Sorry, I was trying to make you feel better." She gives me a quick peck on my lips. "That is sweet of you." She says and she walks away towards the pack and they start the team training again. I sigh and lay my head in my hands. I groan and stand up. I walk towards the pack and stand next to Kate, she whistles and we all start running laps in our wolf form. We run 30 laps and we have a break. I shift back and walk towards my mate. I wrap my arms around her and kiss her cheek. "Hey darling." I say. Kate pulls back. "People are watching." She says and she looks behind me at the pack. I turn her head back to me. She is isn't a fan of public attention. "You got to get used to all the attention, you are the Luna after all." Kate sighs and she pecks my lips. "You are right, but now isn't the time for that." She says and I kiss her forehead. "I love you." I say and I kiss her nose. "I love you too." Kate replies. Kate looks aside and we see Justin and Sam walking to us. I let go of Kate. Kate runs to them and she embraces them with a bear hug. I walk after her and give them a hug too. "How are mom and Faye?" Kate asks Justin. Justin sighs. "Faye is mad that she can't fight and mom is still heartbroken by the accident." Kate smiles disappears. "I feel really bad for the fact I can't come to visit." She says and I see the tears in her eyes. Justin strokes her cheek. "It isn't your fault and mom knows that, of course she wants you to visit her but she knows that you are way to busy and she understands that." Justin says. Kate gives Justin another hug. "Thanks." She whispers but I am able to hear it. Kate pulls back and she wipes one tear away. "Okay let's go back to the training." She says and we all go back to the training.

It is late in the evening and Kate and I are cuddled up in a blanket on the couch. My right arm is around her and my left hand is tangled with hers. Her legs are on mine and we share some kisses now and then. I bow over so I can kiss her. She ruffles my hair and our lips move in sync with passion. Our kiss deepens and it gets ruined by the doorbell. I pull back and groan. Kate and I stand up and we walk to the front door. I have my left arm around Kate and I open the door. We see Tristan standing in the doorway. Night growls at him and Tristan laughs. "Nice hair." He says and he points at my hair. "What do you want?" I ask rude. "Kevin expects you when the sun rises." Tristan says and he walks away. He turns around quick and say one last thing. "Oh and you and your mate better mate tonight, it is probably the last time." I see Kate getting angrier and I smack the door shut. I turn myself to Kate and I kiss her rough. I feel Kate relax and she folds her hands behind my neck. I lift her and her legs are around my waist. We pull back real quick. "We better listen to him in case.." Kate says but I shut her up with another kiss. We walk upstairs and I open our bedroom door. I close it and we walk to a wall. Kate bangs her back against the wall and I smile when we deepen our kiss. I don't even have to ask for entrance and I turn to the bed. I pull back. "Come on mate." I say and Kate chuckles.

*The day of the fight.*
Kate's POV

I wake up without Jake. I look at the window and I see him standing on the balcony. I dress myself quick and I walk onto the balcony. I lay one of my hands on his. "Hey." I say soft as I look at the night sky. "You know it is pretty funny, your wolfs name is Sky and mine is Night. Like the Night Sky. Sounds pretty good." Jake says and I nod. I look at the stars and Jake wraps and arm around my shoulder and he gives me a kiss on my head. "I don't like to ruin this moment but we need to prepare." Jake says, I look at the stars for one last time. "Okay." I reply and we go downstairs.

10 minutes later and we are standing in front of the forest. I sigh deep. Jake and I turn to our pack and Jake starts speaking. "Thank you all for joining us for this fight, it may or may not be easy to defeat our enemy but we try our best. Today we will fight for the name of our pack and our Luna. We may lose our dearest but everything needs an offer. Again, thank you and let the Moon Goddess help us in this fight." Jake ends his speech and we turn around and walk into the forest.

Today is the day that will change everything.
