Three years later...
"Sophie Mavis Hart."
The crowd cheered loud as Sophie held up her diploma, her men's hollers the most distinctive. She smiled big at them and waved. She did it. She had finally graduated. After four years of stressful finals, she was all done.
So much had happened in those four years. So many dumb arguments, amazing memories, growth. She wouldn't trade that time for the world.
Finn had graduated from his art school a week prior and he and Chase were starting their own production company, specializing in Indie horror movies. They were calling it Treehouse Productions. Sophie was so proud of how far they had come.
Victor was running the center with Theo after Jerry retired. Victor taught boxing to local kids and Theo was teaching them how to work on computers, helping keep troubled kids off of the street.
To no one's surprise, Jess landed a part on Broadway and she and Darius had moved to New York a year prior. Sophie still called her often, to vent about her men or get advice.
Benji and Sebastian were married and graduated, about to adopt a kid together. Sophie and Benji had become great friends in the past few years and he even designated her as their kid's aunt.
Connor was a rowdy teenager, but stayed disciplined while boxing with Victor. He fit in well with their family.
As for Sophie, she was on top of the world. She had her four men and Sugar and was about to start a position as a high school theater teacher. She was going to be able to make a difference in kids' lives and ensure that they always feel loved and supported. She still sang and even started starring in local productions. She was impatiently counting down the days before the guys proposed. She had no idea which one she would legally marry, but her heart belonged to all of them.
"You ready, Soph?" Finn asked.
Sophie smiled softly and looked one last time at the giant, not-so-scary buildings around her at Stonewall University.
"I'm ready."
Sophie tried to hide her smile at her graduation party as she watched her men run around nervously. They were terrible liars, but they were her terrible liars.
"There's my bug!" Sophie turned and grinned, running into Sheri's arms.
"Hi, Sheri. I've missed you. How is Europe?" Sheri had been traveling the world the past few years, settling in Europe for the last few months.
"Oh, it's incredible, but I miss you and Finn. I just bought a house nearby so I can be close."
Sophie shrieked. "Oh my gosh, that's amazing! I'm so happy to have you nearby."
Sheri gave Sophie's arm a gentle squeeze and disappeared into the crowd. Before Sophie could go mingle as well, a rush of nausea hit her and she stopped to breathe. That was weird. Something she ate, perhaps.
"Attention. Could we have everyone's attention?" Sophie followed Finn's voice to the stage where each of her men stood and the noise around her died down. "Sophie, could you come up here please?" Her heart began thundering in her chest. This was it. Her happy ever after. All she had to do was take it.
Each step felt like it took a million years. One foot right in front of the other. She could do this. Sophie successfully made it to the stage and looked out into the crowd where Katherine and David, Sheri, Benji and Sebastian, Jess and Darius, and her dad and Connor stood. Her family. Her dad and her had begun speaking a year before and it was going well.
