Chapter 10

Chapter 10: New Arrivals

Isaiah

" Hey, Isaiah wake up. Time for school. " Scott said while shaking my shoulder a little.

I woke up with a grunt and rolled on my side, pillow over my face. I heard what sounded like a chuckle come from him.

" C'mon it's your first day. " he told me.

Another grunt came from me as I swung my legs over the side of my comfy bed. I rubbed my eyes free of crust and looked to where Scott was standing.

He wasn't there anymore so I assumed he went to get ready. With that, I made my way down the hall and knocked on the bathroom door. When no one answered I went in and turned on the hot water.

I walked back to my room, grabbing a towel on my way there, and picked out some casual clothing: blue polo shirt, black denim shorts, and blue sneakers.

I trotted back to the bathroom and stripped of my clothing. When I hopped in, I instantly felt my muscles relax.

I grabbed my coconut lime bodywash and lathered up. After about ten minutes or so, I got out, dried off and started dressing.

*knock knock*

" Hey, you ready? " Isaac asked outside the door.

" Yeah. " I said in response. I glanced at myself in the mirror and opened the door. Isaac was waiting with our backpacks leaned up against the wall.

" ARE Y'ALL READY? " Ms. McCall called up to us. We all headed down the stairs in response.

We pulled up to the school and I really didn't want to be here. I got out of the car with Scott and Isaac. We started walking towards the school doors and came across the rest of the group, pack, whatever.

I looked around and got some strange looks from the other students passing by. I guess Stiles noticed from the look on my face.

" It's because y'all are new. " he said referring to Liam, Sean, and I. I just nodded and we went into the school.

Lydia offered to show me around to all of my classes which I thanked her for.

Throughout the day, I got a lot of blank stares, whispering and pointing.

I had a few classes with Scott and Stiles, and one with Lydia. The rest I was on my own.

The day went ok and better than I thought. I met a few people who were really nice to me.

*Riiinnngggg*

I met up with Stiles, Lydia, and Allison as we waited for Scott, Liam, Sean and Isaac.

" So. How was your first day? " Lydia asked.

" Ok. " I said blantly. Liam and Sean just nodded.

Lydia clapped her hands together as Scott, Sean, Isaac, and Liam approached.

" Allison and I are going to the mall. Anyone else want to come? " Lydia suggested. Sean and Liam nodded and Stiles said sure.

" Scott, Isaac, Isaiah...? Do any of you want to join? " Allison asked this time.

I shook my head no. I looked to Scott and he shrugged his shoulders. I then looked to Isaac and he shook his head also.

" Ok then. Catch you later. " Stiles called as they walked away.

The three of us headed home and I watched TV until I fell asleep on the couch.

My apologies for such a short chapter but I don't know how to write a school scene just yet. But ya know what they say, ' Practice Makes Perfect! ' I'm gonna make sure that the next few chapters with school scenes will be more in detail.
