During all the commotion, I didn't notice the moments that would follow...
Chase walked back to me as he wiped his mouth and spit on the ground which showed blood. He brought the gun under my hair before wrapping his hand around my hair and pulling my neck face down so my eyes were looking straight into his. I saw that he wasn't the man he used to be. This man looking into my eyes was a demon-not anywhere near human. His pupils were dark and his pursed up lips were even more sinful...
"It will truly be a shame to be sure those legs will never wrap around anyone again...or those breasts...Those lips... You did have a killer body..."
"You don't have to do this..." Before I could plead for my life, I felt the butt of the gun hit the side of my head hard. My vision then became blurry before I heard the click from the gun and a loud bang. When I opened my eyes-expecting to see a white light or my loved ones who had passed before me, I saw Vincent standing tall over Chase's body. His would was bleeding before he winced and fell to his knees before me. He untied my hands and feet before he rushed over to Mitch.
"I am so sorry man..." He said as his voice was becoming weak-sounding as if he had never had water in his life.
"You just saved our lives...I am eternally grateful for that."
"You owe me a drink then."
"I do. Let's get you out of here..."
"No. I can't..." He coughed and when his hand moved down, it exposed blood. "But I still want that drink..." He said with a smirk. As he went to move, he winced and became even more white. "Treat her right, I sure as hell didn't..." His eyes then moved to me. "I am so sorry about before Adelaide. I couldn't help myself and I had a true problem with that...I hope you can forgive me."
"Of course." I said as I began to cry. I realized it was those people who you would least expect-could just save your life...
As we spoke, the sound of police sirens were heard before the bodies that did not make it were taken away in black bags. Mitch was placed in an ambulance as he lost his life three times but was revived three times on the way to the hospital...
