Tae's POV:
It's sometimes alarming how quickly time passes. One day turns into two, then three, four, and before you know it, a month has gone by. Then two months, and before long, an entire year has passed. Suddenly, it's been two years, and before you notice what's happening, three whole years slip by. Throughout all this time, my longing for you has only intensified.
"Tae!! Where are you? It's almost time for the party, and we're gonna be late!" Jimin yells.
"On my way, Mini!!" I yell back.
We are headed to our send-off party, which begins at 8:00 p.m. It's just 7:30 p.m., but according to the queen diva, we're running late. [Scoffs] Like, chill, girlfriend, there's still time.
Anyway, back to what I was saying before the midget interrupted.
Time moves fast... I still can't wrap my head around the fact that it's already been three whole years in a foreign land—without my pumpkin. Ugh!! Lord knows I've missed him dearly.
Don't get me wrong, I've missed everyone, but I've missed him more. Especially the cuddles—his cuddles are the best! Don't tell Jimin I said that, though; he'd freak out.
It's been a while since I last heard from JK. I mean, the first year apart from each other was pure torture, but at least he kept his word and sent me letters. He even visited alongside Namjoon, Yoongi, and Jin-hyung from time to time. Ugh, those stolen moments were the best!
But after a while, the visits stopped. Namjoon-hyung said it was because JK was starting up his business and was swamped with work he couldn't ignore. I understood that. However, the letters eventually stopped as well. Still, I never stopped writing to him, because I knew how unforgiving the business world could be—especially for a no-name like JK. That never stopped my longing for him, though.
I mean, fuck!! When I set my eyes on him, I'm gonna cry, torture him with kisses, and after that, I'm gonna get this kitty beat.
Hey! Don't judge me, okay? You try being celibate for years, knowing you have a hot boyfriend, then we'll talk! Anyway, I can't wait for tomorrow, because the first thing I'm doing when that plane touches the ground is heading straight for my man.
"Tae, seriously, get your ass outside before I help you!"
Oops—somebody's mad mad! Yikes... well, till we meet again, dearest diary of mine.

Author's POV
Taehyung finally finished getting ready, and he and Jimin headed straight to the venue together. They arrived only five minutes before the party began, but the hall was already alive with people—friends, acquaintances they had made along the way, even their therapist, and strangers who were likely plus-ones. The air buzzed with laughter, music, and the soft clinking of glasses.
The moment they stepped through the doors, the crowd surged toward them. It was no surprise—after all, they were the reason for the gathering. The two soulmates moved with practiced ease, weaving through conversations, playing games, dancing, and filling the night with laughter that came as naturally as breathing.
Yet, amid the sea of celebration, one pair of eyes never left Taehyung. The silver-haired man seemed oblivious, but his quiet observer lingered in the background, watching his every move with a mix of admiration and longing. Whether it was love or mere infatuation, no one could say. What was certain, however, was that Taehyung held their undivided attention.
Taehyung had known admirers before—both men and women, fleeting crushes and bold confessions—but none had ever been as quietly persistent as this one. They never approached him, never spoke, only watched. And every time Taehyung's gaze happened to find theirs, they would either smile faintly or turn away, concealing whatever it was they felt.
The party lasted until dawn, the night blurring into a haze of music, warmth, and revelry. By the end of it, both Taehyung and Jimin were far too intoxicated to make it home on their own. Taemin, a dear friend they had met in their first month in the UK, had no choice but to drive them back, laughter still spilling from their lips as the city lights faded into the quiet of morning.
..........................
The sun rose gently over the horizon, casting golden light into the apartment. The two soulmates lay sprawled across the living room couch, their bodies heavy with exhaustion. The shrill cry of the alarm clock broke the stillness, dragging them into half-conscious groans.
Jimin blinked against the light, checked his phone, and shot upright. The sudden movement sent pain shooting through his head, the remnants of last night's drinks clawing at his skull.
"Tae, get up—we have thirty minutes to catch our flight!" His voice wavered between panic and irritation, one hand clutching his head while the other shook Taehyung awake.
At first, Taehyung mumbled incoherently, still lost in dreams. But the urgency in Jimin's second call sent him bolting upright as well, his vision spinning from the effort.
"Finally," Taemin's amused voice drifted from the doorway. "I was beginning to think you'd decided to stay another year."
"Never!" they chorused, their voices loud despite the throbbing in their heads. Without hesitation, they rushed to their bedrooms to throw themselves together as quickly as possible.
Fifteen minutes later, they emerged with their suitcases in tow, dragging their luggage toward the door. Taemin, however, blocked their way, insisting they eat before leaving. With little strength to argue, they accepted the steaming bowls of hangover soup. The warmth chased away some of the fog in their heads, steadying them for the long journey ahead.
By the time they got to the airport, time was slipping through their fingers. Luck, however, favored them—they arrived just in time, boarding with minutes to spare.
After their goodbyes to Taemin and a few friends who had come to see them off, the two finally settled into their seats. Nostalgia pressed against them like a tide, carrying with it both excitement and unease.
"I can't believe this is really happening, Tae Tae," Jimin whispered, his eyes alight. It had been a year since his engagement to Yoongi, and the thought of finally seeing his fiancé again filled him with restless joy.
"Me neither, babes... It feels bittersweet," Taehyung admitted, a smile tugging at his lips, though anxiety lingered in his eyes.
Thoughts of their reunion haunted him. He longed to feel those familiar arms around him once more, but doubt gnawed at the edges of his excitement. Would everything still be the same after so many years? Would the raven-haired man welcome him with the same warmth, or had time reshaped their love into something unrecognizable?
"It's going to be okay," Jimin reassured gently, his voice soft but certain.
Taehyung gave a slow nod, though the unease in his chest did not completely fade. "I just don't know if things will ever be the way they were."
"Of course they won't," Jimin replied with a quiet smile. "But I believe with all my heart that things will be even better."
"Yeah... you're probably right."
"I'm always right," Jimin teased, flipping his blonde hair with exaggerated flair. The gesture earned a laugh from Taehyung, the tension in the moment easing.
.......................
As the hours slipped by, the hum of the engines lulled them into their thoughts. Their hearts raced as the pilot's voice broke through, announcing the descent.
Three years had come and gone. Now, at last, they were returning home—uncertain, unprepared, yet filled with hope for what awaited them.
