"Thank you for the coffee, Haz." The nickname slips from my lips once more, and Harry's jaw clenches tightly.
Maybe it wasn't a slip, maybe it was.

Harry glances over at me, "It's fine, Y/N/N." He takes a sip from his red cup.

Harry shakes his head, "I wanted to apologize to you." I choke on my damn coffee, coughing uncontrollably when I hear those words come from his lips.

"It's okay." I look out of the car window, biting my lip. "I shouldn't have acted so.. Cold." He describes the way I've seen him for so long now. "But you were my best friend, and I couldn't have you falling for me." Harry reaches over the console, taking my hand, and running his thumb soothingly over it.

Well, too late for that, Harry.

I was at a loss for words, I don't know if it was the distracting gesture of his thumb or the apologetic words I've longed to hear leaving his light pink lips effortlessly.

"I hope things can go back to the way they were beforehand." Harry smiles.
I nod, disappointed in so many levels.

"I missed my best friend having my back. And me having yours." Harry turns to park his car in his usual parking spot at school. "I never stopped having your back." I get out of the car, walking to him.

We walk together, sharing old jokes, before he shouts her name.
"Tianni!" He catches everyone's attention, including Tianni's, and she motions for him to come over.

In a split second, he has disappeared from my side, running to Tianni.
I shake my head, keeping it down as I walked into the school building.

"Hey, Y/n." Harry's group of friends come up behind, all greeting me with hugs or with a soft kiss on my cheek.

I smile, "Hey losers." We walk into the building, and it doesn't take them long before they ask me where Harry was.

"With her." I simply answer, and they offer me apologetic looks. They've known about my crush on Harry. They teased me about when we were younger actually.

"You know, if you want. We could date just to make him jealous." Grady wraps an arm around my waist, winking at me to make me giggle.

I see him too much of a brotherly figure for me to try and "date" him.

"Oh, G." I roll my eyes not even bothering to take his hands off me.

They follow me to my locker, and I felt cool. I mean, it was like having an entourage.

We pass by Harry and Tianni, and all of us wave, and I stare at Harry, who seemed to be glaring at me. His eyes drop from my eyes, and I follow, to see him staring furiously at Grady's hand on my waist.

Oh?

Harry's eyes trail back up, whispering in Tianni's ear before joining us.
"Do you still want me to walk you to class, Y/n? I know how much you really wanted me to since you wouldn't stop whining about it on the ride here." Harry grins mischievously, and my eyebrows furrow with confusion.

I never asked him. I never whined.

"I never-" Harry cuts in, walking beside me, and plucking Grady's fingers off me one by one.

"You do? Well we should get going." Harry waves the boys off quickly, gripping my wrist tightly, and releasing it as we walk to my next class, which happened to be Biology; my favorite of all subjects.

"Why did you do that?" I frown, playing with the thick strings of my backpack. Harry scoffs, "Y/n. You know how Grady is." He refers to his reputation of leaving girls broken-hearted after a one night stand.

I fight, "He's like my brother, and he was just playing around!" Harry rolls his eyes at me."Okay. Whatever you say." He throws his hands up.

"I'm serious. I don't know why you would even care." I mumble to myself, but I know Harry heard me. "Thanks for walking me to class." I walk through the doors, looking back at Harry, who had his mouth open, as if he were about to say or ask something.
