Chapter twelve

The next day Cade and his girlfriend came over my apartment around four o'clock. I was still dressed in my pj's because I didn't want to do anything today. Nathaniel went home this morning because he had work so I stood home alone all day which felt good. I took a long bath with some soft music playing out loud. It was nice being home alone all the time because I don't get much of it. Kylie was holding my brothers hand with a big smile on her face. She was wearing some blue skinny jeans with a loose white tank top, she straightened her hair. Wow this makes me feel like crap. I am wearing leggings with white under shirt and sweater open so you could see the shirt. My hair is naturally loose and I have my glasses on. They both take a seat on the couch as I get a bottle water and sit on the single seat on the other side of the couch. I try my best to cover the hickey Nathaniel gave me from Kylie and Cade so they won't ask any questions.

"Where's Nathaniel?" Cade asks.

"Nathaniel?" Kylie asks sweetly. Her voice makes me smile because she is so soft stoken.

"He is Catherine's future boyfriend." Cade tries to make a joke. I glare at him. "I'm kidding!"

"He is at work. I've been alone for some time now until you guys came over. He should be getting off soon though." I tell them both. I begin to ask Kylie how medical school is going since she is some what new to it. She goes on and talks about how much work it is and how the professors are very demanding.

"I legit almost had a break down. My professor wanted us to write a ten page paper on that is related to medical. He didn't even give us much instructions on it, he just gave us the paper and when I was starting to write it I didn't know what else to write! I wrote everything I could on medical things! But other than that, I had no Idea what to do. I called Cade for help but he was as clueless than I was." She pauses and smiles at my brother. "Are you planning to go into medical?"

"Honestly no. It's not me, I don't find it that interesting." I tell her as I bring my legs closer to my body. We kept talking about the medical field until there was a knock on my door. I got up to answer it and it was Nathaniel. He got off work early.

"Hi Cat! You're still in your pj's? Get dressed already, love!" Nathaniel throws his arms around me and I get a funny feeling you get when someone you have a crush on comes near you. I hug him back tightly when he lets me go, he pinches my nose softly then looks at cade and kylie.

"Hey Cade! What's up?" Nathaniel high fives him. Cade looks at me with the 'I told you' look and then looks at Nathaniel who is now saying hello to Kylie. Kylie stands up and comes to me, cade is talking to Nathaniel.

"Wait, that's Nathaniel? You guys don't seem like friends, more like you both are together. Is that why Cade said future boyfriend?" Kylie says in her sweet voice she has. I nod at her and tell her that we are just friends. She smirks at me as if she is telling me that I am not fooling her. I put my hair behind my ears and smile back at her. Kylie's eyes go wide once she makes eye contact with my neck.

"Who gave you that?" She says in a whisper. I immediately cover it the hickey Nathaniel gave me on my neck.

"I'm so sorry! I didn't mean for you to see that! I forgot about it!" I tell her in a soft yell. She covers her mouth trying to hold back her laugh.

"Kylie, Catherine, do you guys want to go out for dinner?" Cade speaks. Kylie and I both look at each other and say yes. "Alright! Lets go? Catherine get ready."

"Actually, Catherine and I have plans for tonight." Nathaniel stands from the seat by the kitchen counter. I look at him waiting for him to continue because I don't remember him making plans for us tonight.

"Plans?" All three of us reply. Nathaniel nods his head and smiles at me. I can't help but smile back at him.

"Like a date?" Cade asks.
