"Guys," (Y/N) felt like she had been walking through a maze of caverns. "Where are you? Dad, where are you?". She turned a corner, and a strange golden angelic light illuminated the passage. It was very strange.

"What the...". It couldn't be an angel. Her wings automatically fanned up and started sparkling. "My wings,". She was stuck. Should she follow that glow to see what it is or continue finding her friends in a wasteland threatened by dragons and harpies? Her thinking was disturbed by a strange humming noise coming from the source of light. Her choice was made. "Hope I'm not making a mistake,". She spread out her wings and soared towards the light.

The people surrounding Will, Lia, and Giacamo were still uncertain. "I don't want to be here," a kid said.

"We don't belong here," a little girl added in.

"No, guys. We cannot trust this boy," an old man argued.

"If that girl Lia says he can get us out..." a woman said. "Then I say we let him try. Let's try and get out of here,".

"But the Harpies..." the same man argued.

"Will only keep their hold over you if you fear them," Will finished.

"He's right," Lia agreed. "So long as we all stick together, so long as we're brave, there is nothing we cannot do. Now, are you gonna help us find my 'little brother' or are you gonna just stay here forever and be prisoners?".

The people exchanged in silent gestures and then turned to Will. "I say we go with him!" a soldier said. Everyone nodded.

Will only wished his father were here. He hoped he would see him again. Giacamo patted his back. "I told you, you would be a better Bearer than me. Let's go, everyone!".

Lyra was not going to let go of hope. She was not going to give up on Roger. She found him again, but when he saw her, he tried to walk away again.

"Roger, please, I know deep down, this isn't what I want,". She begged.

"Please, go away," he wouldn't stop.

"No. I won't. I let Pan go to the jetty because I had to get to you. I told him that I had to leave him because you need me. And you do. And right now, (Y/N) and our friends Will and (M/C) came down here looking for you and everyone they lost, including Lee,".

Roger stopped walking. He turned around.. "Lee?".

"He's dead," Lyra sniffled. "And like you, he's dead because of me. (Y/N) has lost her father because of me. You have no idea how guilty I have felt since Asriel killed you, and learning that Lee was killed by soldiers. And I have been willing to endure pain just to do that. And if I have to drag both of you out of this death prison, then so be it. I am duty-bound to try, even if I hesitate all the time,".

"No. You didn't kill either him or me. Stop letting this guilt cloud your mind. If you do, you'll end up down here," he said. "Now please, leave,".

Lyra went to sit near an old lamppost. There had to be a way to get him to move. After a long moment of thinking, she finally thought of the solution. She approached Roger quietly. "What do you remember about Jordan?"
