Hey readers!
You all must be confused whether 'Stevie' is the main character or 'ethos'? Well sorry for the confusion but, both are heroes as both are one.stevie is ethos and vice -a-versa.why?! You'll get the answer in upcoming chapters.

She has been here for just few hours and I can't stop myself from looking at her room's direction.
I pretended to watch TV so that I can hear what they are talking about.But man! I can't just hear the shuffling of boxes!
I sighed and went to my room for a shower.
The water was cold just like I wanted. I couldn't stop myself from thinking about the way she looks. Her eyes maybe transparent brown but there is nothing transparent about her. Its like she wants to remain a mystery .
Why am I even thinking about her....!? She is not my type.I don't like puzzles...and she is a walking piece of puzzle.
I tried to distract myself . There's an upcoming biding function for st. Mars property ,acquisition of such property can really boost up my business.

I came with a single towel wrapped around . I went to the kitchen tousling my hair .
"Stevie can we order Chinese tonight?" Alex came out with Eva following.
Her eyes might mine .she looked me from top to bottom before looking away. I studied her expression ,hmm...she likes what she saw.
I smiled at the thought.
" no problem.but order it fast ,I am starving." I said drinking water .
She nodded and asked Eva what she will have. I was surprised to find she like 'knife cut noodles' its not something girls prefer .

she is carefree.
Hmm....one piece solved.

We were having dinner silently, which is something unusual with Alex.Usually she is not quiet and I know something's up.she was fiddling with her dumpling.

"Say it miss Atreo" I said wrapping the noodle in my fork.
Eva looked up to to check alex .
Alex nervously shrugged her shoulders as if asking 'what'.
" silent dinner with you?! Not possible alex and plus you are fiddling with your food.you know I don't like that" I said annoyingly
" like a I give a crap Mr. Ethos!" She pretended like I was wrong.
" whatever then .just stop fiddling" I said.
She listened to me this time and ate it.
I didn't took long enough for her to prove me right.
" I have to leave tomorrow morning." She said in a whisper .
"What!!" Eva and I both said at the same time again unable to hold our shock.
We glared each other.
" you guys need to stop doing it" alex said dropping her spoon .
" alex! You promised me you'll help me in unpacking! And you can't leave me here alone!"
Eva reminded her.
"Yes you can't leave her alone here!" I tried to reason with her.
Eva looked at me with an are eyebrow as if ,do really I care about her social life. In order to remove the doubt I added something more.
" I hardly know her! God knows who she is!" I said sarcastically.
Eva rolled her eyes.
" shut up stevie" Alex slapped my shoulder.
" and Eva ,I am so sorry ! I remember I told you I'll help you but ,this nick got the permission from forest office in Africa and it's very hard to get that! I was really looking forward to that!" She pleaded and reaching for Eva's hand to hold. "Its a life time opportunity! And don't worry about the stuff! stevie will help you here!" She said motioning towards me.
She really craved for this kind of opportunity.She has been eating up my ears about the wildlife of Africa ,making me watch Nat geo channel whenever she was back(which is very less).
Maybe I can help Eva with her stuff so that Alex can go.
I leaned back at my chair with folded arms and looked at Eva waiting for her answer.if she is going to say no then she is going to the streets this instant!
Alex will have this opportunity no matter what.
Eva looked at alex with a serious look.
" is it the one ,for which you destroyed all my magazine in college?" She asked .
Alex nodded with hesitation.
" then maybe its the time for you to pay back" she said with a serious look.

She is going to say no.

She is such a selfish friend.alex ,here,begged me to let her stay here and she is going to repay like this ! And that to on the first night!
I was ready to tell her to get out of my condo when she spoke again.
" bring me the best photographs you can ever click!" She said again instantly changing her expression from serious to a smile.
I could tell ,it wasn't a forced smile but real smile.her lips stretched ,showing her pearl white teeth. Her eyes glistened with happiness .
"Eva ! Thank you so much! I promise ,I'll make up to you!" Alex said running towards her room leaving me here alone with Eva.
We didn't leave the table but kept looking at each other.she eyed me ,asking what I as looking for.

You are not selfish.
Second piece solved.
"Thanks " I said not sounding too soft.
"I didn't do it for you" she said coldly getting up from the seat with her plate.
I followed her ." I don't even expect that from you." I replied with same cold tone.
She didn't replied back,just washed her dish and went .

I kept on looking at her back until she closed then door behind. For a person living in someone else place,she sure has a lot of attitude.

I sighed and went to my room.

Early morning
" alex! Do you want to catch your flight or not!" I called out for her.it was already 6 am and these girls weren't ready yet.
Eva came out first .she wore her glasses and a loose t-shirt top with skinny jeans .her hair were open unlike yesterday.she looked simple still i couldn't help but stare her.she came Alex's bag in one hand .I took the bag from her hand and kept in the trunk.as always I didnt recieved a thank you.
Alex came running just after that with panic look.
" start the car! Start the car! I don't want to be late!" She said positioning herself in the front seat and Eva sat at the back seat.the whole ride was filled with alex's excited conversation.
We bid bie to her and waited there until she disapearred in the line.
"I think we should go now" I said looking at Eva .she nodded and and followed me back to the car.
Just as I was about to open the door for the drivers speed ,she spoke.
"So now its just ,you and me...lets just be blind to each other?" she looked at me for my approbatio.

Blind to you?! Easy to say for you but harder for me to do.

I noddded.
This is going to be a very long ride.
