Against the Unknown

Chapter 1

Author's note: This is a story I decided to write for fun that features all my best friends. There is a high chance I will not get around to finishing it but I hope everyone enjoys it nonetheless.

~Evan's POV~

I'm sat in a branch above the meeting spot in the forest when Cadi, Alesha and Seb arrive. They all sit on a fallen log and I laugh silently due to them not noticing my presence. Everyone else gradually arrives. Kate and Anna, Cerys, Elle and Lauren, Jacob and Scott and finally, Millie, Georgia and Ellie. I notice they're all in a circle- perfect. I jump down from the tree and land in the centre of the circle and shout "Surprise bitches!" resulting in everyone jumping in fright. I laugh loudly at their scared faces.
"For God sake, Evan!" shouts Anna. I receive a high-five from Kate and a punch in the shoulder from Ellie.
"I'm sorry everyone but that was perfect!" I say through laughter, "Okay so what should we do now that we're all here?" I ask.
"Let's go back 7 years and play hide and seek!" suggests Elle.
"I agree with Dave!" announces Cerys. Dave was Elle's nickname. She got this nickname because of her love of Despicable Me minions.
"

Okay, I'm counting to thirty starting... now!" I declare. Everyone runs to hide. This shouldn't be too hard.

~Elle's POV~

Where do I go? Where do I go? There are no bushes, rocks or thick trees. I've been wandering about for at least 20 seconds. Evan will be finished counting soon! Just as I'm about to give up hope, I see a small hill with an opening in the rock face. A cave! Perfect! I carefully climb inside and crouch down behind a rock. Suddenly, I hear a hissing sound further into the cave. I'm half intrigued, half scared. Curiosity takes over and I make me way into the depths of the cave. As I get closer to the source of the noise, it gets louder. I suddenly get a weird feeling. I look up and scream. A huge, pitch black,
four-legged lizard runs along the roof while hissing. When I look back down, another lizard plunges into me and knocks me flat on my back. It then proceeds to gnaw on my arm, causing my wrist to start bleeding. I kick it in the face and it scampers away. I gaze down at the cut on my arm and wince. Another 3 lizards run towards me so I take action and run out of the cave. As I get outside, Evan comes around the corner and sighs. "You're not very good at this game, are you Elle?" he says.
"Run!" I shout. He looks confused at first, then his eyes widen and he turns and runs. They're clearly following me. Evan grabs a broken tree branch and runs towards the lizards, hitting them with the pointed end of the branch. They back down, hissing wildly, then turn and run back into the cave. I breathe heavily and lean against a tree. Everyone else makes their way over to us, asking what happened. I explain, leaving them all confused and in awe. Then, I notice something. "Guys," I say, "Where exactly are we?" we are lost.
"Shit," says Kate. "Well, everyone say their goodbyes!"
