Against the Unknown

Chapter 2

~Seb's POV~

We're all sat there, confused. Wondering what we're going to do. We're lost in the woods and we have giant, freaky lizards living beneath us. Great! "So guys," I begin, "What the hell are we going to do!? How do we get home? Wait no, first, how are we going to survive!? We have no water, no food and no way to contact our families. We're screwed!" I punch a tree next to me, making my knuckles go red and start stinging.
"Well first of all Seb, punching trees is just going to make things worse for you!" says Cerys.
"I can't help it when I'm so bloody frustrated!" I say, taking deep breaths. "I'm sorry everyone. I'm just annoyed,"
"We all are Seb!" Cadi says, giving me a reassuring look.
"Okay let's think!" announces Kate, "We need to find food and water! There should be a few rabbits and squirrels around here, we just need to find a river or a stream,"
"There is a stream not far from here!" informs Georgia.
"Which way?"
"That way," Georgia says while pointing behind her. "Has anyone got a bottle?"
"Yeah I have!" says Lauren.
"Okay, you two go collect some water from the stream, but be careful!" orders Kate.
"Okay, we'll be back soon!" says Georgia with a smile on her face.

~Georgia's POV~

Perfect! Lauren and I have been raising the lizards for weeks, making them smarter, stronger. More Deadly. We've grown tired of this pathetic group of people and frankly, they just annoy us. So we've decided to eradicate them! Now we can go underground and send them out to finish the job. "We've got to be quiet when we do this!" I say, "We can't let them know we're behind all this!"
"I know, I know! I'm not stupid!" exclaims Lauren. We sneak around the hill and down into the cave. Hundreds of lizards crowd around us, waiting for orders. I put up 10 fingers and point towards the entrance of the cave. They all scamper out and we sneak out and onto the top of the hill. Crouching behind a bush, we watch as the lizards attack the weaklings below. But something unexpected happens: They fight back! Evan and Seb hit the lizards at the front with large, pointed sticks while the others throw rocks from behind. But it's not all bad- one lizard grabs Jacob's trouser leg and pulls him towards the cave. Seeing this, Seb runs forward and stabs the lizard in the head, killing it on impact. "Damn!" I exclaim.
"Wait, look!" Lauren says. Two lizards tackle Seb to the ground and try to bite his head but Seb holds their heads back. Evan grabs Seb's weapon and stabs both lizards in the back. One after the other. They writhe and squirm for a few moments before lying motionless on the ground. In fear, the other lizards run back underground. We've lost for today. I pull Lauren's arm and run back around the hill before advancing towards everyone. "What happened!?" I ask, "We headed screaming so we ran back!"
"We got attacked by lizards. About ten of them!" explains Anna.
"Well is everyone alright?" Lauren asks.
"Yeah! And it looks like we've got some food!" Alesha shouts, holding up a dead lizard. Great! They were supposed to be weapons, not meals! We'll just have to try again soon.
