“Hey, um can I sit here?” I asked Alexis as she sat back on the plane’s seat. She smiled and nodded.
“Of course you can.”
I returned the smile and sat on the seat looking over at Justin and Braydon on the other side of the plane. I sighed and put my belt on. After the lady spoke the procedure and safety instructions just in case something happens on the plane where it’s falling from the side and possibly killing us all, the plane flew into the air.
I sat for ten minutes, not really knowing what to do. We were on our way to Sydney Australia to stay with Brandon’s friend. Now I was completely away from my family.
“So, what’s going on with you and Justin?” I heard Alexis ask. I turned to face her. “Oh, sorry if I’m asking since we don’t really talk—“
“It’s fine.” I smiled nodding. “Well, i don’t really know what we are. It’s just really complicated.”
She nodded firmly knowingly. “Yeah, exactly how Justin is.”
“Can you tell me,” I looked around quickly seeing if anyone was listening, “can you tell me more about him?” I whispered this time.
“Like what? Past relationships..?”
“Sure.” I mumbled quickly, just wanting to know anything interesting about him. He seemed so dark and secretive.
“Well he dates a lot of girls, first of all.” She said quickly cutting to the chase. I nodded expecting that. “The only girl he’s actually had feelings for would probably be Morgan. But ever since she left he was angry at her that he was worse than before. If that’s possible.”
I narrowed my eyes with confusion. “So wait—he wasn’t like that before they dated?”
She laughed. “No he was. He changed when he and Alex met Derek.”
“When was that?”
“Like, when he was twelve or so.” She shrugged thinking about it.
“Wait, how long have you known them?”
“Well, I met them five years ago when I was 13 and he was 14. Derek took me from my family too around then and he created a group with me, Alex, Justin and Brandon.” She explained. “Brandon came in the group a year after I did when he was like 15.Justin and he became instantly best friends.” She spoke more and I just listened carefully. “Well that’s a different story.” She quickly said. “Anyways, Justin was really nice at first until Derek had him find girls for him. Justin changed over time and became a complete asshole.”
“What about Morgan? How did he meet her?” I felt like I was asking too many questions, but she liked answering them so I continued.
“Just like all the other girls. He found her.” She spoke slapping her knees. She grabbed a magazine out of the back of the seat in front of her. “She was a complete slut though. We all saw it coming when she got pregnant. Then she left like a year after.”
“She just… left?” I whispered softly.
“She literally got her bags and left, leaving all of us.” She told me innocently. “But the weird thing is she left when—“ When she stopped I looked at her in confusion but I realized she was looking behind me. I glanced up to look at the muscular tall body that was leaning against the side of my seat.
“Sorry to interrupt your little heart to heart you both are having but I need to talk to Lyra, so let’s switch seats.” He said looking over at Alexis. She stared at me with wide eyes without him seeing, and got up to leave.
