Chapter 23
My legs fell onto his lap as I laid back and watched TV. Meanwhile his arms rested on my legs as he texted off his phone. “Bieber, I’ve got these new clothes for Braydon yesterday, aren’t they so cute?” Alexis asked holding up a couple small shirts in her hands.
“Adorable…” He trailed off not once looking away from his phone.
I rolled my eyes and looked up to Alexis. “I like them, they’re cute.”
“Thank you Lyra,” she said smiling widely while shooting Justin a dirty glare.
I chuckled as I sat up from the couch and faced the side of his body, with my legs still on his lap. “Baby, I thought you liked this show?”
“I’m watching it.” He said, not once looking up from his phone.
“You didn’t even look at me once since we sat on this couch…”
“Do I have to look at you?” he inquired, still looking down.
I sighed with a roll in my eyes. I kicked my legs off his lap and walked towards the kitchen. I’d rather not watch him texting the entire time. “Lyra!” He exclaimed running over to me.
I smiled at how excited he gets when he sees me. “Hey kiddo,”
“Why is that he likes you more than Alex and I combined?” Brandon joked as he drank some beer out of the bottle.
I shrugged. “I’m loveable.”
He chuckled lightly at me, his teeth were perfectly aligned. Braydon ran out of the kitchen probably over to Justin who might just ignore him like how he’s ignoring all of us. I walked over to the fridge to grab something to drink.
“Why is that Justin gets all the pretty girls? I mean I’m hot, right?” I instantly blushed.
“Well—uh—yeah.” I nodded agreeing with him. He crossed his arms hinting that I was embarrassed. Great... “You’re good looking…”
I passed by him. Before I could walk away, I felt his hand grab a hold of me as he spun me around to face him. My face, right on his shirt covered chest, I slowly looked up and instantly looked down from those blue eyes. Those ocean, light blue, gorgeous looking eyes.
“Uh, I’m going to go back in the room.” I tugged my arm away from him softly until he managed to let go. I began walking back into the room and saw that he was still on his phone, rolling my eyes I walked back out and into our room. ---
“Justin! What the hell? Get off your phone.” I snapped as I watched the ocean waves and the fact that he’s still texting. Who the hell is he been texting all day?
“I’m trying to figure out where that fucker is. I’ve been trying to find someone who knows where he might be living.” He explained to me, not once looking up from his phone. I crinkled my nose a little with frustration. My fingers dug into the sand.
“Lyra, can you help me make a sand castle? It keeps falling down!” The sound of Braydon’s little voice always seems to put me in a better mood.
“Sure, you’re much more fun than your dad anyways.” I smiled over to Justin’s direction and he finally look up to me. His hazel eyes brighter because of the weather around us…
I crawled over next to Braydon as I began to help him build a sandcastle. I wasn’t the perfect builder or artist for that matter. I seemed to always fail miserably at these kind of stuff. I was just always good with legos. That’s about it.
“Hey beautiful, enjoying the weather?” I heard his voice. I looked up to notice Paul was standing above me, his chestnut hair lightened up from the sun that was almost close to sunset.
