Chapter 24

Sometimes, you just need to let go. Let go of the past, the present, the future and just relax, not thinking of any situations that happen. I took a deep breath from crying hard for hours and grabbed some clothes to change into.

If he doesn’t care about me, I won’t care about him either. He can find himself a new whoree to not ‘care’ about.

…A Week Later…

“Hey, Lyra where’s Justin?” I heard Brandon ask from behind me. I was washing the dishes, the dishes that nobody seemed to want to do but Alexis and I.

“I don’t know, haven’t seen him.” I replied back carelessly.

“What’s been going on with you two? Did you guys break up or something?” He questioned as he opened the cabinets probably wanting to find something to eat.

I turned and softly said, “We never were dating.” I tried my best to sound calm and careless. That’s what I want to become: Careless and calm just like Justin is.

“Hm, so you’re single now, eh?”

I smiled as I turned off the sink and turned around with a towel in my hand, drying my hands off. “I always was.”

He smiled back, with his perfectly aligned teeth. “Well do you want to go out for some lunch? You must be hungry washing all that shit for two hours.”

“I’d love to! Let me just clean up real quick.” He nodded and I ran up the stairs. I began walking down the hall and passed by Alex who was wearing no shirt like he always does. He needs to stop that, because Alex probably has the best looking body I’ve ever seen.

“Always staring, I think I found a good tip for my brother to use for you.” He smirked with a playful wink. I softly blushed.

“I wasn’t looking!” I called out as I began opening our bedroom door.

“Mhm…” I heard him say before I heard his feet rambling down the stairs. When I walked into my room, it smelt like weed, but I ignored it as I rushed towards my dresser on the right side of the room.

I grabbed some stuff to dress into from my dresser. I began taking off my shirt to put on the new shirt. After lifting my shirt off, I grabbed the new shirt and stretched it out to put it over my head. I took off my capris next and put on a pair of dark blue jeans. I picked my clothes off the floor and threw it in the laundry basket beside my dresser.

“So, where you going?” I suddenly heard. I stopped. I turned around slowly. Has he been here this whole time? “I was here the whole time.” Jeez, he just watched me changing for the past 5 minutes without saying anything? Typical. “Yes, I happily just watched you changing in front of me.” He always knows what I’m thinking.

I lightly smirked with confidence watching him smoking weed. He’s disgusting. “The body you happily hurt and pushed aside carelessly not wanting to see it anymore?” I began walking towards the door. Suddenly, he stepped in front of me.

His eyes furrowed cutely. “Lyra, I’m hurt.” He put his hand on his chest as if he’s hurt. “I specifically said I didn’t care about you, not your gorgeous,” he looked down at my hips and his warm hands delicately touched them, bringing chills to my body “body that would be even more gorgeous on our bed.” He deviously smirked confidents.

After having an eye staring contest with him for a couple more seconds, I slowly reached my hands down over to his hands, pulling them off my waist. “It’s your bed now Justin. That’s exactly why I sleep on the couch downstairs.”
