When Yume and Yuzu finally made it back to the apartment building, it was very late, past midnight in fact. Kana and Haru were already waited outside when she saw Yume help Yuzu walk. They looked frightened as they ran over. Haru even yelled. ''What happened, why are you so late?''

Yuzu tried to answer, only to enter another coughing fit. Yume looked at her worriedly before turning to her adoptive parents and saying. ''While we were hunting, the man Yuzu attacked, he push her off the nearby cliff.....she almost drowned but I managed to save her...''

The parents gasped in horror before turning to the youngest and hugging her gently, Kana stroked her back and said. ''Thank you, Yume. We're so glad that your safe and alive. Yuki came back before you two and when we didn't see you too come shortly after, we became concerned.''

''S-sorry...that w-we...worried you...'' croaked Yuzu, before entering another violent coughing fit.

''Don't talk, Yuzu. Yume, take her to bed and get her some rest. I think she needs it.''

Yume nodded, as she took her friend back into her arms and helped her inside and to their room, Yuki looked up at them. She had been eating some chips while reading a short story. She bite down on her snack when she saw the almost unconscious Yuzu. ''W-what happened, Yume? Why is Yuzu clinging onto you for dear life.''

''....She ended up being pushed on the nearby cliff, by her prey and almost drowned.''

''Oh, did you use the kiss of life?'' said Yuki, with a smirk on her face. Yume growled, and wondered how her older sister could be funny at a time like this. Yuzu, however, looked up at Yume, weakly of course, and blushed a little.

''Yes, so what? It doesn't mean anything. I did it to save her, nothing more and else.'' Though, Yume admitted that the clear and obvious blush on her face would say otherwise. ''Now, shut the hell up so I can get her to bed.''

She gently walked over to her and Yuzu's shared bed and laid the younger girl down in it and pulled the blanket over her, upon hearing Yuzu's cold complaint. Yume smiled a little at her, when she noted that Yuzu had closed her eyes and was beginning to rest. She whispered to herself. ''..I should have kept my eye on her. I promised myself that I would protect her, all those years ago..and I failed...''

Yuki looked at her younger sister, her smirk nowhere to be seen now, and said. ''Don't be so hard on yourself. You were feeding yourself, weren't you? So you were too busy to notice it, it weren't your fault and I'm sure Yuzu-chan agrees.''

''B-but...I almost lost her, Yuki-nee.''

''So, you saved her in the end and I'm sure she thanks you for that. Yume, your her adoptive sister and the only one who she truly trusts. Keeping her safe is one thing, being by her side is another. You need to be by her side at all times. Remember the incident that happened 3 years ago when you went to focus more on your training then her.''

Yume glanced at her with surprised, she did remember that. She had been practicing with her bat and was totally ignoring Yuzu. When she finally went to bed, she saw Yuzu with tears falling out of her eyes and mumbling things like 'Don't leave me, Yume...'

They had only been 7 at the time but Yume knew that she shouldn't have left Yuzu alone, she had just been so focused on her training that she had forgotten her best friend. Plus, it had only been recent after finding out about the full extent of Yuzu's parents and brother's deaths. So the poor girl was still traumatized of seeing fresh blood, not the slightly old blood that they drank at home. She eventually got out of that though, prior to their first hunt earlier that day.

''You remember, don't you?'' said Yuki, snapping her younger sister out of it. ''I care about you and Yuzu-chan a lot, you know that. Despite my teasing, I know that your close and that you'll always be together, through thick and thin. I may be your older sister, but I feel more like the third wheel, if you understand. But it doesn't bother me, I love you two all the same.''
