•kylie's pov•

there's some things i wish i didn't hear, there's other things i wish i did hear. was it a good thing or a bad thing i heard what shawn said last night?

(flashback)
"goodbye shawn." i told him walking away.

i placed my hand on the door to open it, his voice caught my attention.

"but i'm not happy with lauren." he whispered.

(end of flashback)

if he wasn't happy with lauren, why was he dating her? if he didn't want to hurt me why didn't he talk to me when i went back home? none of this made sense.

"erg!" i screamed.
"wow," cam said walking in nash's room.
"sorry i thought no one was home," i told him not looking at him.
"i just got home, i'm the only one." he said sitting on the bed next to me.

i stayed silent and looked at the ceiling.
"clearly there's something wrong," he said with amusement in his voice.
"i don't want to talk about it," i told him.
"you and nash aren't really dating are you?" he asked.
i stayed silent again.
"kylie why would you fake date nash?" he asked.
"why would shawn fake date lauren?" i asked in a snotty tone.

"so that's what this is about," he said.
"of course it is cameron, what the hell else would it be about." i shouted at him.
"lauren and shawn are really dating, but i never said they were happy together." cameron whispered.
"what the hell does that mean?" i asked sitting up.
"kylie, shawn and lauren have to date." he told me looking away.

"why?" i asked.
he was silent.
"cameron why!" i yelled.
"shawn's fans made up this rumor that he was gay. his management team didn't like it at all, and his fans already liked him and laur together. so they offered her money to date shawn." he said whispering the whole thing.
i stayed quiet.

"kylie-"
"you knew," i whispered looking down.
"ky i can expla-"
"you knew this whole time when i was back home and you didn't tell me! you knew that it was all fake when my heart was breaking!" i screamed.
"i knew but-"
"but what cameron! but nothing! the one person i actually loved broke my heart and you knew that and did nothing about it! you're the reason i'm so messed up!" i cried screaming.

"but nash-"
"nash and i are nothing, we will never be anything. i'm leaving." i told him getting up and grabbing my purse.

i walked through the house and out the front door. i heard him yell after me, but all i did was walk faster. the hot afternoon california air hit me hard in the face. as i walked faster down the street the wind whipped my hair around. my vision became blurred from the tears, my cheeks were probably mascara stained.

the street lights shined down on the poorly lit café's. i wrapped my arms around my exposed shoulders and continued to walk with no destination. i started to get tired and found a small café to eat in. i sat down and ordered a coffee and sandwich. i took out my phone and realized it was almost dead. i sighed and threw it down.

"you can use my charger," someone said behind me.
i looked up and saw laur.
"what do you want?" i asked her.
"everyone's looking for you." she said sitting down across from me in the booth.

"how did you find me here?" i asked her.
"remember when you ran away from home when you were six?" she asked.
i nodded not looking her in the eyes.
"you walked all the way down to the the train station. you took it all the way down to toronto. there was so many different places you could go down there, but you went to the smallest café there was. when they found you and i asked you why there, you told me because why would anyone ever pay attention to a small café like this." she said.

"you remember that?" i asked her looking up.
"how could i forget when i almost lost my best friend?" she said back.
i looked down.
"best friends was a long time ago for us," i told her.
"it was my fault," she whispered.
i looked up and then back down...it was her fault.

(flashback)
"lauren!" i shouted walking into her house.
"lauren!" i shouted again.
she came out and waited at the top of her stairs.
"yes kylie?" she asked with a smirk on her face.
"why did you do that?" i asked her.
"why did i do what?" she asked again.
"you knew i liked shawn and you asked him out!" i yelled at her.
"oh yeah that," she snorted.
"what the hell laur! why would you do that to me?" i asked her.
"he was cute, and you weren't gonna make a move so i got him." she told me.
she started to make her way down the stairs.
"you know what i don't care, he's gonna realize he doesn't want someone like you someday." i spat at her.
she stopped.
"what won't he like? what am I?" she smiled.
i opened the front door and turned around before leaving.
"a bitch," i spat.

(end of flashback)

"i don't know why i did that to you," she said.
"it's over and done with," i told her sipping my coffee.
"you left the next week and i never got to say goodbye," she whispered.
"you never said sorry, there was no goodbye needed." i told her.
"my flight back home leaves in an hour. ny cabs outside waiting." she told me.
"why are you leaving early?" i asked her.
she slid money across the table.

"i never wanted to date shawn for the money, give this back to him yeah?" she asked.
"why?" i asked.
"i like him, i've liked him for so many years." she told me.
"well then why would you not date him?" i asked her.
"his heart belongs to someone else," she said looking at me.
"i know he's always had your heart." she said.
i didn't speak.

"i know this isn't really a sorry, but shawn was yours and i took him. shawn is still yours now and you should probably go get him." she whispered getting up.
she started to walk outside to her cab when i stood up and ran after her.

"laur!" i shouted.
she turned around.
"you said sorry, i didn't want to forget to say goodbye again." i whispered.
she smiled and hugged me.
"thank you," i whispered.
"go get your boy ky," she smiled getting into the cab.

i didn't watch it drive away, i was too busy running the other way towards my boy.
