The week before the family set off to Italy, everything was rushed. I couldn’t sit still for any longer than a few minutes! The day finally came. Everything was packed, and we were all ready to go. The airport wait took longer than we all hoped. Our flight had been delayed for forty minutes. Fay drove me insane the whole time, which kept my mind off the wait. I was glad we would be away for most of the summer vacation, although my “chores” had stopped, I still would not be allowed to see any of the guys. So being away would mean I wouldn’t have to be stuck in the house with nobody to talk to.

The plane journey didn’t help my boredom either. After the first flight, I started to get really tired. By the time I got onto the second plane I had fallen asleep before I knew we were in the air. My sleep wasn’t as good as it should have. I sat next to Fay and a random guy who I thing was called Robert. He was on some sort of Business trip. He snored really loud and, that really drove Fay insane. She would keep waking me up and whining, this got me annoyed and after a few minutes of arguing we got split up, and I sat with Dad and “Robert”. The next few hours were a blur. My sleep was dreamless, and uncomfortable.

Some passengers had woken up and were talking, which woke me up. I felt tired, and grumpy. It would only be a few more hours and I would be sitting in my new home for the vacation. A while later we landed. The sun shone through the windows. After we landed, mom got up first. We all followed after her and the Italian looking guy that lead us inside the airport. Everything blanked out after that. I was way too tired to concentrate and Fay didn’t help with the distractions she just moaned about being tired. I didn’t remember ever being like her when I was ten. Maybe it was just her personality.

I listened to the Italian people talking. They all looked different from what our people looked like. Every one of them had dark hair, eyes, and skin. It wasn’t as warm as the USA, but it was fairly hot. After more travelling us final got to our destination. When we got in to our villa, I chose my room and left Fay to be annoyed at me for getting the best one. We really didn’t get on. Before Brea moved, Fay hadn’t ever thought of annoying me. She was younger, the baby of the family. Well I suppose she still is.  Everyone was hungry and we didn’t have any food. So we went out for the night. We went to an Italian restaurant. I had been to Italian restaurants in Atlanta before…but this was different. I had pizza. Although it wasn’t just any old pizza, it was … like … ausam! It had loads of toppings on it. Some I hadn’t ever heard of! The only down side of it was that, it took me the amount of time it took the rest of my family, to have their main, and desert. I couldn’t eat another thing after it, which sucked because the deserts looked so good.

After our meal we walked home. I got to see a few girls and … yip… they were hot. A lot more different than the usual girls in America. The all looked Itallian, every one of them. And beautiful. We passed a tourist office on our was home and asked about what was on. We got a few broachers about festivals. One festival was quite near, and we decided we would go, the next day. St Marcus day. It had something to do with vampires and other stupid legends. I couldn’t have been less interested. The only part of the festival I was looking forward to was the girls I would see.
