Chapter 175
Wayne Mansion
Miexha sat cross-legged on her bed, quietly sulking.
She had woken up alone.
The last thing she remembered was the hum of the engine... and Zatariel's arms around her as she drifted to sleep.
She must have been carried inside at some point—but no one wakes her up.
Her fingers tightened slightly against the sheets.
The room around her glowed in soft pink hues, and every corner overflowed with plushies, ribbons, and delicate decorations—things that once made her feel like a princess.
Now—
They just felt suffocated.
A knock echoed softly at the door.
Miexha blinked.
That... was new.
No one knocked here.
In Wayne Mansion, doors opened when they were needed.
And besides... she couldn't even open it herself.
It was locked from the outside.
"Um—hello?" she called, hesitating.
"I... can't open the door!"
A click followed.
The door slowly opened.
A maid stepped inside—one Miexha didn't recognize.
But that wasn't unusual.
Wayne Mansion had too many staff to remember.
The woman carried a neatly pressed Wayne Academy uniform.
"Little Miss," the maid said gently, bowing her head.
"It is time to prepare for school."
Miexha froze.
"...Wait," she said, standing up.
"Really? I can go back?"
Her voice lifted, something fragile but hopeful breaking through.
"It's been three months..."
The maid nodded.
"Yes, Miss. Classes resume after the semester break."
Miexha smiled.
She slipped off the bed and moved toward the bathroom—
but before she could even reach it—
The door opened again.
And again.
And again.
Ten maids entered in perfect formation.
Miexha paused mid-step.
"...Right," she murmured under her breath.
"I forgot."
This was Wayne Mansion.
They moved around her with flawless coordination.
One brushed her hair in long, gentle strokes.
Another prepared her bath.
Another selected her perfume.
One arranged her uniform down to the smallest detail.
Miexha opened her mouth
"I can do it myself—"
But the words never fully came out.
They washed her.
Dressed her.
Dried her hair.
Buttoned her sleeves.
Even brushed her teeth for her.
At Dom Mansion... she had learned simple things.
But here—
Maids were paid so she won't lift a finger.
She stayed quiet.
And let them.
When they finished, three butlers entered, carrying a golden tray.
