Chapter 169
Blue City — Private Greenhouse
No one in Blue City knew what was happening in the capital.
The celebration here remained warm, lively, and untouched by the tension unfolding elsewhere.
Only one thing felt slightly off—
Ashel and Jane had both lost connection to their clones.
But neither of them reacted outwardly.
Damian and Zaren were there.
Whatever was happening—
It would be handled.
For now, what mattered was this.
Their children were here.
Safe and happy celebrating.
Laughter filled the greenhouse.
Games had begun, lifting everyone's mood.
Even Jayson, who usually kept to himself, found himself participating—if only to avoid being dragged repeatedly by Asha and Marie.
From the side, Jane quietly observed the group.
Her gaze moved calmly across the room—
until it stopped.
To Anita.
Jane's eyes narrowed slightly.
She watched as Anita carefully poured something into a glass.
A fine powder.
Almost invisible.
Jane's breath caught.
Who was that for?
Her eyes instinctively moved toward Asha and Jayson.
Then Miexha.
But—
Anita turned.
And handed the drink to Zatariel.
Jane paused.
Relief followed almost immediately.
"...I see."
She exhaled quietly.
Perhaps she had overthought it.
Zatariel was still a young wolf.
And sometimes, young wolves could shift early if overwhelmed.
Perhaps it was just a suppressant.
Something to stabilize him.
Jane relaxed slightly, allowing a small smile to return as she continued observing the celebration.
Meanwhile, Anita leaned slightly closer to her son.
Her voice dropped into a whisper.
"Enjoy the night with your girlfriend."
Zatariel blinked.
Then blushed faintly, clearly flustered.
He glanced toward Miexha.
Still unable to fully believe it.
She's really... my girlfriend.
A small smile formed.
He held the glass loosely, twirling it once as a quiet thought settled in his mind.
I won't hurt her.
No matter what happens... I'll be someone she can rely on.
With that resolve, he began walking toward the group.
At the center, a game had just ended.
Miexha and Jayson stood opposite each other, both reacting to the sour fruit challenge.
Miexha laughed despite the sharp taste.
Jayson, on the other hand, looked completely defeated.
"I give up," he muttered.
"You win."
