Chapter 167
Asha stepped out of the powder room—
The golden gown flowed elegantly with every step she took, catching the light like liquid sunlight.
Intricate details shimmered along the fabric, making her look every bit the star she had always imagined.
She twirled once, unable to hide her excitement.
"It's perfect..." she breathed, smiling brightly.
Across the room, Jayson emerged as well.
The golden suit fit him flawlessly—sharp, refined, almost regal.
Miexha's eyes softened as she looked at him.
"You look really handsome," she said gently.
Jayson glanced away almost immediately.
"...It's just a suit," he muttered.
But the faint redness on his ears betrayed him.
Marie stepped forward to the center, clapping her hands once.
Her presence instantly shifted the atmosphere.
"Ladies and gentlemen!" she announced brightly.
"Welcome to the real celebration of tonight!"
She gestured grandly toward the twins.
"Presenting our celebrants—
the stars of this evening—
Asha and Jayson!"
Light applause filled the greenhouse as all attention turned toward them.
Marie smiled mischievously.
"And yes, this version has better lighting, better outfits... and a much better buffet!"
Asha laughed.
Jayson shook his head slightly.
Marie raised a hand.
"Let us begin with the most important people to greet the celebrants—
their parents."
Ashel stepped forward first.
His expression softened as he looked at his children.
"You're both adults now," he said.
"So my wish is simple."
"Choose what is right for yourselves."
He paused briefly, then added with a faint smirk,
"And try not to give me too many headaches."
Asha giggled.
Jayson gave a small nod.
Jane stepped forward next.
Her voice was gentler.
"I want both of you to focus on what you truly want in life."
She hesitated slightly before continuing.
"And... I'm sorry."
Asha blinked.
Jayson's expression shifted.
"I wasn't always the parent you needed," Jane admitted quietly.
"Especially to you, Jayson."
"I raised you like a soldier... with only one purpose."
Her voice softened further.
"But now... you're grown."
"You're free to choose your own path."
Silence followed—
not heavy, but meaningful.
Jayson lowered his gaze briefly.
Then nodded.
Marie clapped lightly.
"Now, we move to the people who made their lives more interesting—
Zatariel, you go first."
