---------------Izzy's PoV------------------
After dinner, the blonde-haired prefect at the end of the table got up, and called for the Ravenclaws to follow him. We were led out of the great hall, through numerous corridors and up and down countless flights of stairs until we reached an eagle-shaped mural on the wall. It was quite pretty, I suppose, but I didn't know why we had stopped until it asked:
"Which came first, the Phoenix or the flame?"
I was slightly startled, but I could hear a first year yelp in surprise, so I knew I wasn't the only one. The prefect spoke, this time addressing the mural:
"It's a circle, there is no beginning."
"Still haven't cracked it have you? Oh well." Replied the eagle.
It shifted its head a little, facing the crowd.
"The pass question changes when a student gets it right. Seeing as it was twenty years ago when someone last got the question exactly correct instead of just giving an acceptable answer, I'm giving up hope." The eagle sighed dramatically.
"Anyhow, welcome to your home for the rest of the year, tower number two."The wall swung open, and students started filing through the gap.
--------------Cecilia's PoV---------------
The eagle's question still buzzing in the back of my mind, I stepped through the gap. A glance over at Izzy told me that the same thoughts were running through her head (she rubbed her left thumb and forefinger together when she was thinking hard). I returned my attention to the prefect, who really should have broken up with his ex before starting to date another girl otherwise he was obviously going to get slapped, and he should probably lay off the weed for a couple months before applying to become a doctor. I let my deduction skills go on the rampage until he finally shut up.
One of the teachers whipped out a clipboard and started rattling off names and dorm numbers."Astra Longbottom and Vicky Chang, floor 2, corridor 07, dorm e."
"Hazel Lancaster and Lauren Adams, floor 1, corridor 18, dorm c."
"Will Solace and Nico Di Angelo, floor 1, corridor 13, dorm a."
I almost sniggered at that one. Those two probably weren't going to be needing two beds (*cough* solangelo*cough*).
Then all of a sudden came the words:"Izzy Smythe and Cecilia Dryden-Sitter, floor 2, corridor 21, dorm b."
-----------------Izzy's PoV----------------
I looked at Cecilia. Today was just one mahoosive coincidence after another. But we made our way to the stairs and managed to get to our dorm without getting lost too many times. I turned to Cecilia and bowed saying:
"If Madame would care to do the honours?"
She smirked, taking the key from my outstretched palm.
"But of course, dear butler, I would not expect anything less!"
She turned the key in the lock, and we stepped into our new dorm.
It. Was. Massive.
There were two beds, each on an opposite side of the room. They were both four-posters with blue and silver velvet curtains hanging down like waterfalls on each side of the bed. There was a stove in the centre of the room with a rack for hanging things on around it, and a huge, fluffy rug covering the remainder of the floor. A tapestry depicting a Phoenix rising from the flames with a bird overhead covered one wall, while a window overlooking a lake was set into another. It was definitely an improvement on the oversized broom cupboard that made up my room at home. I could get certainly used to living like this.----------------Cecilia's PoV-------------
The room was amazing. I looked at Izzy, then sprinted to the bed on the left side of the room and jumped on shrieking:
"I call dibs on this bed!"
Izzy burst out laughing.
"Forget the beds, I could quite happily fall asleep on the carpet!" She proclaimed, dramatically flollopping onto the carpet.
"OHMYFLUDGINGODIT'SOFLUFFY"I turned back to Izzy who was stretched out as long as she could on the rug, like a cat. I could almost hear her purring.
'Has anyone told her she's a cat?' I wondered.
It was only when she started laughing, I realised I'd wondered aloud."Several people have, my mother still calls me cat to this day. You can if you must"
"Very well then cat, I suggest we sleep before we pass out from exhaustion."
She nodded, retrieving her pyjamas from her bag. I changed underneath my covers, a manoeuvre I had perfected on scout camp. Then an idea came to me. I hid behind the tapestry, planning to scare Izzy. Then I noticed a missing stone in the wall. In it was a small, leather book. On the book were the words:
'The personal diary of William Sherlock Scott Holmes'
