Request for SkittleFlute
Ashton's POV:
It was 5 minutes until we had to go on stage and I couldn't find my glasses anywhere. I hadn't bothered to wear my contacts today because they've been irritating me so I opted on just using my glasses; even though I don't like how I look in them.
"Alright guys, here we go!" I heard one of the stage people shout to us.
It was hard enough looking for them when just about everything around me was a blurred mess, so I just followed closely behind Calum as we walked onto the stage. At first, I walked out to the front of the stage with the guys to greet the crowd, and then I carefully made my way over to my drumset.
As I was almost to my stool, I suddenly tripped over something and landed on my knees. A shooting pain shot through my ankle but I ignored it and quickly scrambled up to my seat. Thankfully, none of the guys had noticed; well, at least from what I could see. Throughout the show, my ankle was hurting, but I almost forgot about it from the adrenalin rush.
When the last song had ended, that was my cue to walk to the front again with the guys to take our final bow. I stood, and almost cried out in pain from my ankle. I couldn't see much, but I'm pretty sure it was swollen by now. Sucking it up, I made my way over to the guys, trying my hardest not to limp or hobble and in the end I made it. I leaned heavily onto Michael's shoulder though as we bowed and I felt his gaze on me. I wasn't going to look him in the eye, I didn't want them to know for some reason.
I managed to make my way onto the couch in our dressing room and I felt something under my butt. My glasses, figures. Shaking my head, I put them on and looked at the guys around the room. Calum and Michael were over at the table of food, and Luke was making his way over to me.
"That was one loud crowd we had tonight, wasn't it?" he asked me and I just nodded, afraid that if I spoke, my words would come out wavered from the immense pain I was experiencing.
"I'm gonna go change my shirt, it's soaked with sweat," I laughed and started to get up. As soon as I put weight on my ankle though, I cried out and fell to my knees.
"Ashton?! What's wrong?" by now I had all the guys' attention on me. It was no use now, I had to get help.
"M-my ankle. It hurts," I said quietly through gritted teeth. My hand was gripping around my ankle and I felt someone try to lift my hand.
"Let me see Ashton, you might have broken or sprained it when you fell," Calum said and my eyes shot to his.
"Y-you saw?" he just nodded and put his attention back to my ankle. When he lifted my hand, he gently lifted up the bottom of my jeans and we all saw that my entire ankle was a purplish color and was swollen.
"Okay, I'm going to take off your shoe, alright?" I nodded and looked up at Calum, "Then we'll put an ice pack on it."
Luke moved so he was behind me and helped me to lay back with my head in his lap. I looked up at him but quickly squinted my eyes and yelled out when my shoe was taken off. When I lifted my head, I saw that only the laces have been undone and my show was still on my foot. I groaned.
"Sorry, Ash. Okay we're going to take it off for real now," Michael said and rubbed my leg.
Through teared eyes, I nodded and put my attention back onto Luke's face above me. He reached down and held my hand, running his other hand through my hair. A moment later, I felt my shoe get pulled off completely, and I could swear I saw stars.
Luke's POV:
Calum held Ashton's leg still while Michael pulled off his shoe. As soon as it was off, Ashton let out an ungodly scream and arched his back upwards. I tightened my grip on his arms to hold him still and he managed to twist himself around so his face was burried in my lap.
I gently turned him back around and rubbed his arms, "It's okay Ash, you did great," I tried to calm him down but after a minute of heavily breathing and sobbing, I saw his eyes slowly start to close.
"Oh my god, I think he's passing out, guys!" I started to panic and I lightly tapped my finger on his cheek. He just made a small mumbled sound and then I felt his weight go limp against my legs.
"It's okay Luke, I think the pain was too much for him, he'll be fine," Calum said and rested him hand on my shoulder. I looked up into his calmed eyes and relaxed a little.
We lifted Ashton up onto the couch and laid his foot on top of a pillow. Michael went to get an ice pack and a cold washcloth for his head. He returned and handed the cloth to me, I placed in on his forehead and dabbed his face with it. About 10 minutes later, he started to stir and his eyes fluttered open.
"Hey Ash, you okay?" I asked and he just whimpered and looked down at his ankle.
"Hurts..." he whispered.
"Guys should we take him to the hospital? It might be broken," Michael said and I agreed with him, so did Calum. So with the help from a few bodyguards, we got Ashton out to the car and he was driven to the closest hospital.
When he was finished being examined, it was concluded that he'd only sprained his ankle-not broken it, and was given some painkillers and a bandage around his ankle. We took him back to the bus and had his ankle up on a pillow with an ice pack on it while we put on a movie. As we watched, Ashton snuggled up next to me and Calum and Michael sat around us. Halfway through the movie, Ashton was out like a light and we slowly fell asleep too, happy that Ashton was okay.
