I wipe the streaks of tears from my cheeks, as I follow the pathway back to Hogsmeade. 'Lupin must think I'm crazy.' I sigh, hanging my head as I near the Three Broomsticks. Wrapping my fingers around the large brass handle I tug the heavy wooden door open, revealing a bustling pub full of joyful customers. I glance up to to the clock realizing Narcissa should be here by now, as I am in fact late.

"Cassidy." Her smooth voice sounds from a corner booth, my attention instantly drawn to her. I feel suddenly insignificant to her elegant presence.

I slide into the opposing side of the booth. "How was getting here?" I ask, attempting to make small talk until I grow comfortable around her. Deep down I have heavy doubts that I'll ever feel comfortable around any of Draco's family.

"Oh, apparition and all." She hums, forcing a smile. She pushes her empty mug of Butterbeer aside as she stands. "Have you taken your test?" She asks kindly, seemingly half interested in my answer.

"No, my birthday is in June." I breathe, frustrated that I couldn't have done the test like Ron or Hermione.

"As is Draco's!" She beams, excited by the small similarity between me and her son. "I've heard a lot about the two of you Cassidy." She nods. "All good things, you seem to mean a great deal to him." She assures, enveloping my hand within hers. "Much better than that- Pansy!" Narcissa greets the girl as she approaches the table.

I watch Pansy in awe, her whole demeanour has changed in the sight of Narcissa. She seems kind, compassionate, and poised, all things I would have never thought to describe Pansy Parkinson.

"It's nice to see you again." Pansy gushes, tilting her head to the side.

Narcissa smiles, opening her mouth to respond yet Pansy unknowingly cuts her off. "I hope to see more of you." Pansy continues, her eyes set on me as she speaks to Narcissa. A threatening glare meets my eyes as fury grows within my chest.

"Of course!" Narcissa agrees eagerly, my heart sinking as I watch the two of them interact.

I find myself second guessing myself, 'Maybe this isn't an act, maybe Pansy is actually a nice girl fit for the Malfoy bloodline.' I watch Pansy laugh, beginning to see where Draco may have admired her beauty.

"That would be-"

"-Given Cassidy and her family joins as well." Narcissa cuts off Pansy, she turns to me with a sure look in her eyes. She knows exactly who Pansy is, and I can't believe I ever doubted that. "She is his- partner after all." She concludes causing Pansy's facade to falter immensely.

"Oh, of-of course Nars- Mam." She stumbles over her words as her eyes widen. Her panic evident. She raises her hand to her head, grasping onto a few strands before tearing them out.

I watch absolutely baffled as the hysteric girl begins to pull the hair from her scalp.

Narcissa raises her scarred hand, cocking an eyebrow expectingly as Pansy hesitates. "I don't have all day dear." She drawls, her annoyance showing strongly through her tone. Pansy places the hairs in Narcissa's palm, waving goodbye as she speeds towards the door.

"What a rabid girl." She rolls her eyes leading me to the bathroom. As she strolls through the pub she pulls a vial out her pocket. "The Parkinson's owe us, it was the least she could do." Narcissa narrates as she adds the hairs to the vial. I find myself relieved as I realize Parkinson is still somewhat sane.

"Right." I breathe, admittedly my attention isn't on her. Instead my attention is now drawn to my right hand, mentally comparing my scars to Narcissa's. 'Narcissa made a vow? Was it with Snape to ensure Draco's protection?'
