Brielle thrashed around, clawing at the ropes that suspended her in midair, trying in vain to break free. She was hoisted up into a capsule of sorts, where the net fell away from her, but she was inside a glass orb.
Brielle looked around. The glass orb was rising into a room. This was obviously a blimp, or a plane, and the crew had captured her.
As the glass orb containing Brielle rose up into the room of the aircraft, she saw her own mother staring at her. Brielle leapt up, scratching the glass, but could not break it. "Mom! Help me! Please!" She cried, tears streaming down her sea-foam blue scales. Her mother stared at her, a stony face. A girl slightly younger than Brielle stood to the left of her mother, and a boy about the same age as her flanked the right.
Michelle, Brielle's mother, turned to the boy and whispered something Brielle couldn't hear through the glass. The boy reached over, pulled a leaver, and the glass orb split in two, releasing Brielle to collapse on the floor in of the aircraft.
In her dragon state, Brielle was far larger than the people below her. Michelle turned to her daughter. "Brielle."
"Mother!" She cried, almost startled at how loud her voice was. "Please, help!"
"Calm down, dear. This is normal for someone like you. I just didn't expect it to happen so late, that's all."
Brielle clenched her dragon jaw, swiping her forked tongue in and out. "What do you mean, someone like you?"
Michelle ignored her. "Brielle, you need to focus now. Just listen to me. If you want to be a girl again, just focus on that. That has to be your only mindset: to become a girl."
Brielle tried to focus, but beat her wings in frustration when she didn't get it. She tried again; still a poor result. Finally, Brielle summoned all her brainpower and managed to shrink back down into her girl form, collapsing on the floor.
She looked up. Now that she was smaller, she had a better look at the children with Michelle. The boy was a redhead, with spiky hair and freckles, who looked about 14. The girl had dark, straight hair that fell like a sheet to her shoulders. Her dark eyes stared blankly at Brielle. Even just by looking at her, Brielle knew this girl would be very mature, even though she looked only about 12 at the time.
Michelle was the only one who smiled, and helped Brielle up. She cupped Brielle's face in her hands, and studied it over before embracing her in a warm hug. "Oh, my daughter. You handled that so well."
Brielle was frustrated, and annoyed that these people were not telling her what on Earth was going on. She pushed her mother away and demanded, "okay, what is going on? I want answers. And why the heck was I just a dragon?"
Michelle made a tsk tsk sound with her tongue. "Ah, yes, dear. There is a lot of explaining to be done. "
Brielle snorted. "Well, obviously."
Michelle grabbed her daughter's shoulder as announced. "Welcome to the MU. The Morphling Union. We have a lot to talk about."
