"Whose d*mn f*ck*ng b*llsh*t set an alarm in my room?" I shouted, my voice echoing across the house. I made sure everyone heard me.
"Me." Hein answered, her voice calm, almost too calm.
I sat up abruptly, staring at her.
She grinned, cold and unbothered.
"Breakfast is ready." she said plainly.
Tsk! Tsk! Tsk!
Did she wake up on the wrong side of the bed?
Why the moodiness?
Did something happen?
Had I done something wrong?
I couldn't think of a thing. So, what was it?
"Rignley!" Her warning tone snapped me out of my thoughts, and I scrambled out of bed.
D*mn this woman...
I rushed to the bathroom, showered in fifteen minutes, and headed downstairs.
The aroma of freshly cooked breakfast hit me like a warm hug.
I sat at the table, and as Hein set down my plate, she started walking back to the kitchen. But I grabbed her hand first.
"What's this?" I asked, pointing at the ring on her finger.
"A ring?" she replied, casual as ever.
"I know it's a ring! But—who gave it to you? When? How come I didn't know this myself? I'm your best friend, you know—" I didn't get to finish; she stuffed the fried rice into my mouth.
"Don't ask." she said, as if it were the most normal thing in the world.
"B-but—" she interrupted again, this time with eggs.
I barely swallowed when the doorbell rang.
Huh?
Who dares ring the bell this early? She went to answer it.
0____________0
I froze.
My eyes widened at the sight of who stood there.
"Good morning." he greeted me—and then kissed Hein on the lips.
"Close your mouth! Flies might get in." she said, shoving my face closed with her hand, then returning to the kitchen. I followed, stunned.
"H-Hein...?" I stammered, not even sure what I should ask.
"Say it." she said casually, handing me extra plates as she walked to the dining table. I followed and saw Stanlee already seated.
When Stanlee noticed Hein, he stood and took the plates from her hands, placing them on the table himself.
Was I dreaming?
A cold, unapproachable Stanlee... helping out in our home?
This was impossible. He even pulled out a chair for her.
"A-aahh! Guys... mind telling me what's going on?" I asked, voice trembling.
"She's pregnant. I'm the father," he said.
Pwweeee! Ahah-ahaha!!!
"What?!" Shock hit me like a freight train.
