Chapter 14

After the initial shock from the news, Charlie beckoned everyone to rest up for abit after a tiring day and proposed to think of something to do tomorrow. But sleep seemed like a distant friend to (Y/N) as he lay in bed blankly staring at his ceiling. Deep in thought and emotions churning from the current happenings in the place he's honestly called home in the past few years. Many questions, but all a variable of one simple concept.

"Why?" He whispers to himself as his right hand made it's way to the bridge of his nose, his head swinging left to right in slight frustration and a soft sigh escaping his lips.

"The extermination in itself is already an odd choice to do, but cutting the timeline in half? If it wasn't about overpopulation back then, then it sure as here isn't about that now." He went on going through the possible reasons in his head. Although nothing valid seem to be coming to mind for such drastic measures to be taking place.

"What're you up to?" He whispered to himself before letting sleep finally take over the troubled thoughts.

The next day didn't make it all that much better, being the first to wake up, (Y/N) decided to go to the kitchen and make everyone breakfast. Knowing very well that they will be in a similar mood as he is or maybe even worse, he wanted to do something nice to lighten the day abit.

Picking up ingredients and utensils from the cupboard and fridge, he started to prepare what he needs in order to make pancakes and bacon for everyone to enjoy. While doing so, he was brewing some coffee and singing a small tune to himself

As he moved around in quite the efficient manner, although stumbling abit here and there, a feeling of someone's presence making it's way into the kitchen with him cought his attention as his eyes landed on a very tired and messy haired Charlie. "🎵Bacon pancakes, makin bacon pan- Oh! Good morning Charlie." He greeted with a small wave.

Charlie who didn't seem to have gotten any sleep at all last night just nodded and barely raised her arms as a greeting before seating herself at the table while (Y/N) placed a plate of pancakes infront of her. "Vaggie still asleep?" He asked casually as he started to think of what drink to give her.

Nodding her head slowly as a reply, Charlie rubbed her eyes tiredly while (Y/N) showed her the orange juice box to which she shook her head to, he switched it up to water which was also rejected, and finally he offered her the entire pot of coffee that he just brewd which she immediately took and drank from.

Opening her eyes up fully, she shook her head quickly which straightened out her hair back to how it normally looked and set her bright eyes at (Y/N) with a matching bright smile as if all her tiredness was melted by the boiling hot coffee she managed to drink. "This is pretty good! Hehe, oh! I didn't know you can cook (Y/N), thanks for the food!" Charlie exclaimed happily before munching down on the pancakes in joy.

(Y/N) simply chuckled at the princess's antics and continued making more food for the others. "Im glad to see that your liking it." He said seeing her almost done with her plate already.

"You should cook more often, these are honestly the best pancakes i've had in a while!" She went on to say in between bites looking at (Y/N) with a big smile before going back to focus on eating.

"Eh, It's just pancakes, i wouldn't say it's that impressive. Just a simple breakfast i was taught as a kid so i 'wouldn't go hungry growing up.'" (Y/N) went on to say, waving his hands around and putting up a high pitched voice by the end, as if mimicking an older woman.

Giggling slightly at seeing this, Charlie's curiousity seemed to have been peeked as she watches (Y/N) work. "Soo? How was it? Up there? Your life i mean." She went on to ask seemingly out of impulse as she awkwardly pushed against the table realizing it. "If you're ok talking about it, that is hehehe." She added quite unsure of herself.
