Currently my mind is as messy as a hoarder's house that I have no idea what to do with. I shoot a quick reply to Patrick with the address, and he responds that he will be here in about 10 minutes. To be honest, I'm scared to get the letter back. I'm scared because once I have it, I'll have to decide whether or not I'll still give it to Jon. I'm not sure if I can handle reliving everything again, but deep down I know I'll have to explain everything to him eventually. As I wait for Patrick in the lobby, I text Jon

~Hey, it's V. Are you free today? We should talk. ~

I look up from my phone when I notice the doors open. Kaner walks in with a slightly familiar girl with long brown hair in tow. Some people in the lobby do a double take when he walks in, but no one approaches him. As they walks up I realize it's the same girl from last night, who he introduced as his girlfriend. As they approach, Patrick nods a greeting and the girl asks "How are you? I'm Amanda"

I give a small wave, and respond "I'm good, I'm Violet just in case Kaner forgot to tell you who you were meeting."

She laughs, "Don't worry, he let me know"

I look over at Patrick, and see he's standing there with a pained expression on his face, visible even beneath his sunglasses.

I turn to address him, "Well judging by your expression I'm going to guess you're not doing so hot"

He grunts a response, and Amanda laughs "Guilty." she says. "I made him get up to find the letter for you."

I think I like her already. "Well thank you. It's a good thing he finally has someone to keep him on a tight leash. Lord knows he could use one."

Patrick actually looks offended at this. "Hey, I'm not that bad!"

Amanda and I just look at each other. She touches his arm to calm him a bit, "Not now maybe, but you used to be pretty bad babe."

He crosses his arms "Alright, I get it, I should be locked up, can we go home so I can go back to sleep now?"

Amanda pushes him back towards the couch I was sitting on "Here just sit here for a bit and then we can go."

They're cute together, and it seems like she's good for him. He plops down and throws an arm over his face, and holds out the letter towards me with his other hand. I grab it, and that anxious feeling comes back. "Thanks," I smile at Amanda.

She smiles back, "No problem, glad I could help."

"Are you going to the whole get-together Elina's planning tonight? She invited me, but I don't know if I'm going to go. It might just be weird if I do."

"Yeah I get how that could be weird," Amanda empathizes, "I'm going to be there and I'm sure you know some of the girls that have been around for a while, so you'll definitely have people to talk to."

"That's true, I'll have to see, I have a lot of stuff I have to figure out before I go home."

At this Patrick pipes up again "Speaking of going home, while it's always lovely to see you V, can we please go now?"

What a drama queen. I roll my eyes "Go home, I'm fine, thanks for the letter."

Amanda pulls him up off of the couch and they both wave goodbye "Hope I'll see you later!"

I wave back, then make my way back up to my room. When I walk in, Scout jumps up to greet me, and I play with him for a bit. But the letter is still just sitting there on the desk, constantly in the back of my mind and the corner of my eye. Suddenly my phone starts buzzing. I go over and answer it.

"Hello?" I anxiously wait for a response. I hear someone clear their throat on the other end, then say

- "Hey Evvi, it's Jon. Um, you texted me earlier about meeting up to talk. Are you still free?" He sounds kind of groggy, with his voice taking on a slightly husky tone.

I bite my lip, feeling a slight rush at hearing his voice. "Yeah, where do you want to meet?"

- "How about I pick you up and we can just walk along the lake?"

"Ok that sounds good, when will you be here?" I really need to decide what I'm going to do with the letter before he gets here.

- "Give me about 15 minutes ok?"

"That works for me."

-"Bye"

I reply "Bye" then hang up the phone. I anxiously make my way over to the letter and open it, taking out the key that was tucked inside. He doesn't need to have access to the rest of the letters, I'd rather be the one to give them to them and explain things as he reads them. I hate how awkward things are right now. Hopefully once I explain everything we'll be back to normal. Although worst case scenario he could hate me after he finds out what happened. Well I don't actually think he could hate me because that's just not his personality so I guess worst case scenario would be us not even being friends anymore. Which is something I can't even imagine. It's weird. I spent three years away from him, but I've never been more afraid of losing him than now, when he's so close.

I look up at the clock and realize about 10 minutes has passed, so I grab my camera and my phone, then check to make sure Scout has enough food and water before making my way to the lobby to wait for him. I really feel bad for leaving Scout stuck in the room for so long. I guess I'll be at my parents house soon though, and he'll have plenty of space. Just then, Jon texts me that he's here, and I get an idea.

Me: What car are you driving?

Jon: An SUV, why?

Me: Well I feel really bad for leaving my dog in the hotel room all day, so I was wondering if he could come on the walk with us? I totally get it if you don't want a dog in your car though, I'm sure it's really nice.

Jon: It's fine, don't worry about it. Bring your dog I'd love to meet him. What's his name?

Me: His name is Scout. I'll be down in 5 ok?

Jon: See you then.

A/N:

Hey guys! Hope you're liking it so far! I got to 100 reads this week, and I just wanted to thank you guys! It honestly means so much to me that people are actually reading my story, and I hope you all continue to like it!

So another book recommendation, just because I love to read so why not share the joy with you people. This one isn't on watt pad, but it's honestly one of the most action packed books I've read in a while. The Throne of Glass by Sarah Maas is a fantastic start to an even better series, and I would definitely recommend these books to anyone who loves a kickass female lead character.

Hope you guys check it out! Don't forget to vote, comment, and share with your friends //Char
