Chapter Sixteen: Dragon Maturity

(Maybelle's POV:)
I yawned, and stretched all eight of my legs getting up in the morning. I looked around the room, letting my brain take control.

It had been two weeks since we had all run into those players, and while the dragons were ok, we had lately been coming to meet new problems with them. The dragons seemed to all be coming down with something very dangerous. They had all been going through brief but rapid moments of uncontrollable shedding all over the place, dragon scales everywhere all the time, they were all feeling a little irritable, even shy little Gabe. None of us even had a guess of what could be wrong with them-not even animal near-expert Chris.

I yawned once more, then was completely awake. I started crawling around my room, getting ready to go to the club house with everyone. When I was, I climbed across my bedroom wall, then climbed out my window, meeting up at Chris's place. He had promised to research it and ask his mother about it, and the rest of us chipped in where we could. I personally, couldn't find anything at home, but I had a hunch the others may have found something.

I walked across the cobblestone road through town, humming to myself as I went to Chris's house. Soon enough, his house came into view and I saw none of the others had made it quite yet. I giggled a bit to myself, and climbed up the wall, waiting for the first person to come up to the door. I waited for only about five minutes, when everyone came walking down the street. I smiled to myself, hiding under the shadowy part of Chris's roof. I then jumped to the ground in front of all of them, shouting, "GOOOOOOOD MORNING, MINECRAFT!!!" Everyone leapt back, shouting. Seeing it was only me, we all started laughing now.

(Chris's POV:)

I came up from behind Maybelle, and she hadn't noticed me until I said, "morning, guys!" She turned and they all greeted me. I asked, "so, what'd you guys find?"

Endy had said there was only a slight chance the dragons had cold-blood flu, Scorch said he couldn't find anything likely to be what the dragons had, and HerobrineThe2nd said she couldn't find anything that made remote sense but some disease none of us could pronounce.

I said, "well, I couldn't find anything, but my mom said it was likely that they may be going through maturity."

We were all silent for a moment, feeling a bit awkward that this had to be brought up. Especially since not all of our dragons were the same gender.

Hero broke the silence by saying, "wait, guys, did you hear that?" We all listened, and heard a rustle of leaves. We looked over towards the bushes, and saw a flash of movement, running away from us. Out of instinct, we all started to go after it.

We chased the figure through the woods, making sure not to loose it. We chased the figure for so long, we could notice it was the shape of a player, and was female. Finally, we had chased her into the very clearing that our clubhouse stood.

She was about to run, but tripped when her shirt got caught for a second on the fence of our front yard. She fell to the ground with a grunt of pain. We were sure she was a player now, and she must've been terrified to see all of us at once, not knowing who we are.

She was about to run again, but HerobrineThe2nd shouted, "wait!" She turned, and we saw her face for the first time.

(Scorch's POV:)
She was definitely a player, but she looked a bit like a hybrid. You can never tell, though, until you ask the players. She had on a scorer's hood, with two C's on the front for Notch knows what it stood for, and she also wore black leggings and purple flats. She also had decorative Ender Dragon wings on the back of her cloak. She wore black headphones with a green gem inside of them, an amulet that reminds me of SkyDoesMinecraft's, brown hair, and purple eyes. I'd have to ask Endy or Hero to be certain if she was Ender, though. I was an expert on the Nether, and I could tell she wasn't any of the Nether mobs.

She backed up a bit, just far enough out of my range of fireballs, Chris's range of exploding, and also made sure not to look into Endy's eyes. Smart girl. She knew her basic Minecraft needs to survive.
She finally spoke. "H-hi. I-I'm just...look, I don't want any trouble, I'm not looking for any, ok?"
Hero smiled and nodded, then replied, "don't worry, you'll never get any from us unless you really try to. Why were you running though?"
She shrugged. "You know, mobs. First thing I see and I'm weaponless? Yeah, I'm gonna run. Plus, I'm lost as it is."
I didn't know why I was stupid enough to try to talk to her-she wouldn't understand the mobs' language-but for some reason I said, "you don't actually need to worry about that, we're harmless if you're not trying to mess with us."

She turned to me and said, "well, that's good to know," and we all jumped back.
She raised an eyebrow and asked, "what? What'd I say?"

Hero laughed with joy, and explained, extending her hand, "hi, I'm HerobrineThe2nd, daughter of Mob King Herobrine, himself. We were happy, of course, but a bit surprised when we just learned you're a hybrid. Only hybrids can talk to mobs, and I count, being Herobrine's direct descendant. You can call me Hero if you want, and this is Endy, Scorch, Maybelle, and Chris," she motioned to each of us as she said our names, and we all greeted her cheerfully.

She addressed each of us politely and kindly, and while she still didn't make direct eye contact with Endy, she was still enthusiastic about it.

After we introduced ourselves, she said, "it's nice meeting you guys, I'm CrazyCrafter. By the way, I overheard your conversation about your dragons? If you can't tell by now, I'm an Ender Dragon hybrid, and I think I could help you guys out with your problem."

We all grinned, happy to not only have made a new friend, but also a friend with a possible solution to our problem with the dragons.
