The woman who said "We're ready" from earlier walked in the room again. She took a look at me, then walked back out. She walked in again, 30 seconds later, shifting her black glasses up her nose bridge. And she did not look happy.
"It's never easy to say this, but I have to be the one that breaks the news to you."
I leaned in in fright.
"I want you take a look around, Cayson Kindell. Do you like what you see?"
"No, ma'am. "
"I'm sorry then, but this very building is your new home."
I was blank for a minute. Then it sunk it.
"What? No! I have rights!" I stood up and cried.
"I'm afraid your 'rights' don't apply to this situation. You are different."
"Different? What you're saying has a name. Uh, discrimination!"
"We won't hurt you-" The woman tried.
"Oh, right!" I laughed insanely. "Right, you won't hurt me. But you will imprison me? But you won't hurt me! So you're the good guys, right?"
She put her mouth to some sort of walkie talkie device and whispered something into the speaker. Only two seconds later, Kael barged into the room and slammed me against the table.
"Is this boy not following instructions?!" He barked.
The lady looked frightened.
"Yes, but you don't need to-"
"We don't tolerate that!" He yelled in my ear. "We are giving you a chance to live! And you're whining?"
Kael was the only person here that truly struck fear in my soul. His tall body and his bony cheeks and his undeniable strength. So naturally, I did what was normal.
"Aggggghhh!" I started sobbing like a baby. Yeah, make fun of me, but you would've too.
"Unbelievable." Kael muttered. He let go of me, and walked out of the room. I felt sick in my stomach. I hated every part of the situation I was in.
The lady walked back inside.
"I...I apologize for that." She regained posture. "We have no means of hurting you."
"I keep hearing that." I mumbled, wiping tears off my face. "And I keep on getting hurt."
She tried to look away.
I looked at her with puppy-dog eyes.
"P-please." I stuttered. "Don't do this."
"Stand up. Now." She ordered.
I couldn't move my legs. My chest felt so cold.
"Sweetie, either you stand up or Kael makes you." She whispered, obviously not wanting Kael, who was right outside the room glaring at us, to hear her.
I shivered at the thought of Kael putting his hands on me again. I pushed myself up with my arms.
I was led out of the room, and blindfolded again. I was thinking of how stupid I was to accidentally inject myself with the syringe. Whatever happened to me next was on me, I told myself. But it just made me more miserable. Then my mind drifted off to what I felt when I passed out yesterday. I felt a dragging, from the ground to tile to wood. Ground was outside, wood was our hideout's staircase. But there was no tile anywhere near there. What was the tile I felt?
My thoughts were interrupted by the blindfold being ripped off my head. In front of me was a hall with several doors. Each door was protected by a guard.
"Teo!" I heard one of the men holding me shout.
A short kid stumbled out his bedroom. He had black pointy hair, and little glasses. He looked at the men behind me, then to me. He grumbled something.
"Yeah?"
"Introduce him to where he is. You're his new roommate." The man's voice said.
Then I heard two pairs of feet walking away. I looked at, well, Teo, I guess.
"H-hi, I'm Cayson. Where am I?"
"No, no, no, no!" He replied rapidly. "Questions tomorrow. It's 7. Time to sleep."
"7?", I thought to myself. It felt like I was woken up by two Ecator grunts on the hideout's door an hour ago.
"You and I are room buddies now." He walked back into his room. "So get in and start producing some Z's."
I followed him into the room, trying to avoid contact with any of the guards. Two beds sat parallel at two walls. He jumped in to the right one. I slowly crept under the blanket for mine, with too much questions on my mind.
