I walk into the detention room and take a seat at the back of the room. I've never had a detention before so I don't really know what to expect. I look around to see a few students sitting on the desks and talking. Marcel isn't here so I take a breath of relief. No one really acknowledges me and I take out my book. I'm not really reading it, but I think pretending to read will keep me out of trouble. I begin reading the same sentence over and over as my mind wanders. Before I know it, someone sits down in front of me and turns around to face me. I don't acknowledge him. They take their hand and close my book but I still don't look up. I open my book back up and begin "reading" once again.

"Ouch, Jen. That hurts." It's not Marcel's voice so I immediately look up.

"Oh my God, hi Luke!" I smile wide and close my book.

"What are you doing in here?" Luke asks, nonchalantly.

"Being late too many times. You?"

"Skipping class too many times." I can't help but laugh at that.

"I guess we're both rebels." I smile wide. He laughs and sits back.

"Hey, I was wondering if you'd want to hang out sometime?" He blurts out. I look at him for a moment before realizing what he asked,

"Oh, yeah! Sounds great!" Him and I have a really nice connection, so why not? "Here, give me your phone." So I type in my number and send myself a text so I have his. As I'm finishing that up, I hear someone's low voice speak from behind me.

"Jennifer." His voice is raspy and chilling. I feel his hand rest on my shoulder and I tense up.

"Marcel. Let go of me." Luke's eyes dart from me to Marcel. His eyes narrow on Marcel for a moment before he speaks up,

"She told you to let go." He says. Marcel just walks around so he's in front of me, his hand never leaves my shoulder. "I'm sorry, can you not understand what we're saying?"

"Luke, stop... It's fine..." I say, a little defeated. But the look Marcel gives Luke scares me. I feel like Marcel can just crush Luke and I don't want him in any danger.

"You heard the lady. She said she's fine." He immediately smirks at me as he takes a seat beside me.

"No I don't think she is fine." Luke sits up in his seat, challenging him.

"Luke. Stop it." I say, unsure of myself. I can't really explain the look in Marcel's eyes, but it scares me and I don't want Luke to get hurt because of me, so I tell him to back off. I immediately look at Marcel to see him already staring at me. I don't think I've ever felt this scared and uncomfortable in my life. Well, maybe...

"Babe, I don't know why you're scared of me. I just want to have some fun." He licks his lips and smirks at me.

"You should know your limits." Luke speaks up again. Marcel turns his full attention to him and I take a deep breath,

"And you should know when to stop talking. You're really getting on my last nerve right now." Marcel eyes Luke for a while before he turns back to me. "So what do ya say, after detention, you come home with me? We could get it on in my room." I shrug his hand off my shoulder and turn to face forward,

"No, thanks. I'm a virgin." I say, plainly.

"Not for long."

"Stop." I finally say as I turn back to face him. "I'm not interested in you or anyone but my boyfriend, okay?" He lets out a soft chuckle but I can see him getting a bit irritated.

"That's okay, just remember that I can give you so much more." His hand inches over to me and his fingertips delicately touch my arm, "and I know you're curious." He winks at me before he then turns away and immediately begins talking to one of his detention buddies. I shiver and just sit there, clutching my "faith" necklace.

"Are you okay?" Luke finally asks me. I stare up at him and nod.

"Yeah... I'm fine."

"He always like that?" Luke asks, curiously. I sigh and nod my head. "You gotta do something about that." He says, irritated.

"Like what? He doesn't see me as anything but... Well you know... A body."

"He used to be your best friend."

"That was before all this happened." There's a pause before he speaks again,

"Well I'm disgusted by him." I scoff a bit and just look up to see Marcel with all his friends. He's acting completely different. It's like I don't even know who he is anymore and it kills me.

"So am I..." I admit. There's a nervous edge to my voice as I speak and Luke rests a hand on my shoulder in a non threatening way.

"Look, if you ever need help, I don't care if he's stronger than I am, I can always try to beat his ass." I let out a laugh and look down at his hand. It doesn't send chills through me, but rather a warm, calming feeling.

"Thank you, Luke." There's a pause,

"So, Jennifer." I hear Marcel speak loud enough for the whole room to hear, and trust me, they're all listening. I turn my attention to Marcel, but I'm dreading hearing what he has to say. "Is this the other guy you're fucking around with?" My eyes dart to Luke and he slowly pulls his hand away from me. I can see everyone turn to us, some snicker a bit, some just make rude comments.

"Stop it, Marcel." I demand and tap my fingers on the desk. My voice is shaky though, and I can't seem to get a good grip on myself so I just sit there, staring back at him.

"Well, is it true?" I sigh deeply. No matter how much I deny it and tell the truth, no one will believe me.

"No, Marcel. It's not." Luke says. I turn to him and so does Marcel.

"Right, don't try to cover it up. We all know how Jen is." Marcel smirks at me and gives me an almost unnoticeable wink.

"Alright, listen. I am madly in love with my boyfriend. I'd never do anything to hurt him but it's hard to have a healthy relationship with him when everyone is always accusing me of cheating. I'm sick of it because, yes, I have guy friends, no I don't cheat on Harry with them because I love Harry with all my heart." My eyes have begun to water as I stare at Marcel. He stares back, emotionlessly. Emotions overcome me and I feel a single tear fall onto my cheek. Marcel still refuses to show any emotion at all. Everyone is still staring. I finally just turn away and bury my face in my hands. The room is dead silent. There is absolutely no talking and finally I hear footsteps and the door opens and closes. I look up to see that Marcel has left the room.
