As we neared where we thought the scream had originated from, all that could be heard was the soft crunching of our feet kicking up dirt and our shaky breathes.

I could see a glow of light about 20 meters away from us, Clay must have seen it too as he voiced it aloud "Kei, look a light!" He whispered his eyes holding a sudden interest. I spoke carefully "Clay, we don't know what we are dealing with here, we need to be extremly cautious." he looked at me suddenly eyes gleaming with newfound understanding. He nodded confidently "I understand" not entirely believing him I began to slowely walk towards the light.

"Stick close to the trees, if someone's here we don't necessarily want our cover blown" I demanded lightly. As the light neared I could make out what appeared to be someone's camp. Getting closer my eyes did not deceive me. There was infact a camp here, but it was very small. A tent was put up but looked as though something, or someone had savagely torn it part to get inside. I started to feel a bit nervous. What was I getting myself into?

The remains of what seemed to be a fire was slowely diminishing, the source of the light turning to ash.

Sweeping my eyes over the area to spot for any life forms, I spotted nothing.

"It's all clear, we should look around for any food that might've been left behind, come on"

I gestured my hands forward.

Clay spent no time in starting to scavenge for items. I swear sometimes that boy can suprise me. One minute he's scared and the next he has no care in the world. I chuckled quietly to myself watching him scurry around the outskirts.

"Hey, Kei! Look what I found!" Clay shouted in delight urging me to come quickly. Glancing around I stood next to him. My eyes lit up at what I saw,

"Oh my gosh Clay, this could feed everyone for weeks!" He had found a mix of canned food and packets of beef jurkey. In the mist of our delight, I didn't realise how distracted we had become in our findings. Clay was still gibbering random nonsense about food as I felt a sudden shiver sweep over my body. Something didnt feel right.

"Uh Clay" I said quietly, pausing his ranting. He looked up at me with a small smile but after seeing my face it quickly disappeared.

"What's wrong Kei?" He calmly said. This time he was the one who was calm. Surprisingly.

"Something doesn't feel right, I think we should leave. Now."

He nodded with no words following me to the gap between the trees where we had come from.

A sudden hiss penetrates sharply through my ears. My heart starts to beat rapidly and my palms become sweaty. Gulping I look to my brother who looks equally as scared as me.

"Oh my, what do we have here.." A smug voice whispers laughing sinisterly. I reach for my stake in my pocket but before I do the voice interjects "I wouldn't do that if I was you honey"

I gasp, how could he possibly see what I was doing, it's pitch black out here! Putting my trembling hand back down to my side I feel helpless.

I hear a satisfied sigh and a hot breath down the back of my neck making my hairs stand up. What the-

I'm forced around roughly by a pair of strong hands on my shoulders making me nearly fall over my feet in the process. I see the figure of the voice. It looks to be a young man from what I can see in the moonlight "You will look at me when I speak to you child" he snaps sharply. A pair of red eyes stare into my eyes penetrating through my skull.

I gulp loudly trying to swallow down my fear as I stand up straight trying to sound brave, but my voice betrays me "A-and why would I do t-that?" I splutter.

The man no, being, suddenly starts laughing as though what I just said was the most hilarious thing he had ever heard.

"Because my child, I could kill you with the flick of my wrist if I so wished" he grinned evilly.
