Take no chances (On hold)

I promise- Chapter 4

I've never been so scared in my life. I mean, I've been told of stories about these monsters. Everyone has. But I haven't thought about what would happen if it all suddenly became a horrible reality.

Looking at my brother I felt horrible, he looked like he was about to pass out. This is all my fault, if only I didn't agree to come down here in the first place!

The being seemed preoccupied with something, gazing off into the distance, his eyebrows furrowed in thought. I decided to take this chance to talk to Clay.

"Psst.. Clay!" I whispered urgently my eyes flicking between him and the being. He was staring at the being in complete and utter shock, eyes wide with trepidation. He slowely turned his head in my direction, eyes not leaving his face. "Y-yeah K-Kei?" He nervously said, his voice trembled on every word and my heart sank.

"I'm going to get us out of here Clay. I promise" I stated, trying to form a smile but failing.

I looked towards the being who looked as though he was in a mental battle with himself. Weird. looking around on the ground I tried to spot something sharp in case he completely loses it and attacks us, and i certainly cant risk reaching for my stake again. Scanning around, the ground is full of small twigs that have fallen off of trees, mixed with leaves and... What is that?

I peered more closely straining my eyes to see in the little light we had and then Gasped suddenly realizing I did infact see something I didn't want to see.. Blood. That could only mean one thing. The person or.. People who occupied this camp before don't exist on this world anymore, they have fallen prey to this monster.

Oh god, this isn't good, we need to get out of here. wiping my sweaty palms on my ragged shorts I got ready. I turned to my brother.

"Clay, run!" I practically shouted at him, sprinting for the gap in the trees. It might've been a good idea or it could turn out to be an extremely bad one that could fail terribly. I looked behind me to see Clay gaining on me and the being still standing there as we made our way closer and closer to the trees, we are going to make it! Just as hope rushed through me I ran straight into something rock hard falling roughly on my ass my arms flailing around before my head impacted on the ground. My head was pounding and I reached up to grab hold of It. I could feel scratches all over my hands and thighs.

"Kei!" I heard my brother scream from somewhere though I don't know where. It sounded far away and quiet. Looking around I could see two figures, I blearily watched the scene play out in front of me. Who i think was Clay ran at the other figure in rage jumping on his back trying to strangle him by the looks of it. This cant happen he's too strong for you.. Clay.

I tried to fight through it but i couldnt, I could feel myself slowely losing consciousness as I fell into a dreamlike state.
