*Charlie’s POV*
“Pst, cutie” I blinked and turned, frightened for a moment. Who would say something so weird so close to my ear other then Riley? And I knew that voice didn’t belong to him. When I was completely around in my chair, I found myself face to face with Rex.
I blushed furiously. He needed to learn about personal space.
“How’s your jaw?” I ask politely. It didn’t look so good.
He rubbed it absently “Fine I suppose. But what’s up with you?”
I still can’t believe Riley punched him and warned him off me. What was this, a clichee eighties movie with an obsessive ex? …. One who the main character was still sort of obsessed with. Dammit. Oh wait-Rex had asked me a question. “I’m good, thanks, umm, how about you?”
He winekd “That’s up to you”
I put on a confused face. “Umm, what?” I smile queasily.
“What I mean is, I have a question for you!”
We were in the computer lab and kids all around us clicked away on their computer. It was drawing nearer to summer and the projects were getting closer together and worth more grades… unfortunately, I was wasting time reading boy love stroies, trying to learn a few things..
“Oh?” I ask, uninterested. Rex seemed nice and all, but I’d had a bad coupel of weeks “What?”
“Well” he asked, reaching out to curl a lock of my hair around his finger, his eye’s twinkling with masculine ferocity. “I was wondering if maybe we could go on a date? I know you have a crazy ex boyfriend and everything, but I think you’re a cool dude. What do you say?”
I gap at him, a million thoughts bouncing around my head. Making Riley jelaous… maybe mvoing on with someone new…. No other guy would have the balls to ask me out-afraid of Riley…. Nice boy…maybe it’s good to not be to overly attached so feelings can grow naturally?
“I… umm…..”
He puts his ahnds together and slides to his knee’s “Please!?” he gives me puppy eye’s.
I chuckle a little at his pleading “I guess we could…. Did you have something in mind?”
“Of course! A gentleman would never ask a boy as lovely as ourself on a date without a plan up his sleeve” he wiggled his eyebrows suggestively and I felt a little uncomfortable. Maybe this wasn’t such a great idea? He must have seen the hesitation on my face, because he rushed on.
“I was thinking that maybe we could go to the movies? Cover all the lovey dovey stuff like holding hands in the popcorn and playing footsies in the dark” he grinned, amused at his own jokes. “How does seven sound? And you can choose the mvoie, pick anything you’d like?”
Again, I’m not sure this is the brightest move. Still, he seemed eager, so I agree.
**************
Me and Riley never did the whole ‘dating’ thing. It went from harassment to something fuzzy and in between, to being a couple. He wasn’t a whine and dine kind of guy, and I didn’t really think I was either. If you had feelings for someone you knew.
Dates were to discover feelings though.
It was nearing seven. The movie I’d chosen was the hangover two, so I could avoid any touchy feely stuff. Didn’t want to give him the wrong impression. Maybe he’d understand I chose a comedy because I wans’t taking this all that seriously? My phone lit up with a text.
