The Demyx Continuum: A Rose in the Water

Chapter 1: Demyx's Dancing Partner

Demyx was walking in the storm with his hood hardly covering his face at all. He wasn't in a hurry to get anywhere. So there wasn't the need to run in a panic. He found shelter, so he could place his stereo down and it was out of the rain. He took a CD and placed it in the player, then started it up. He took of his organization coat and placed it with the stereo. He then stepped out of the rain and played his sitar. After a while though, he wasn't in the mood to play it anymore. So he put it away and danced. He danced with the rhythm of the song and stopped when it stopped. This was the only place where he would go, to get away from doing missions and the organization. He was in his own world with nothing to worry about.

He spent hours and hours out in the rain. Doing his own thing, escaping his organization life and doing whatever it was he wanted to do, but during one of the songs he was dancing to Marluxia came and danced. He was still in his coat and didn't care if it had been ruined. Demyx had stopped dancing although he wanted to keep going.

"What are you doing here Marluxia?"

"What does it look like I'm doing?"

"I would like to dance alone, if you don't mind."

"I do mind actually I would like to dance with you."

"Well I don't want to dance with you."

"Ouch, Demyx, that hurt."

"Why don't you go and dance with someone else?"

"They are so busy with their missions that they don't have time to dance with me."

"I bet they just say that to get rid of you."

"How could you be so sure?"

"I bet that if I go up to one of them they'll let me play cards or something like that with them."

"I get what you're saying I'll leave then. If you see Xigbar, can you let him know I'm looking for him?"

"Yeah, I will."

"Thanks."

"No problem."

Marluxia left, Demyx started dancing again. This time Sora and his cronies found Demyx dancing. However, they didn't recognize him without his cloak on. Therefore, they thought that it was just some guy having fun dancing to music in the rain.

"Hey twinkle toes! Can we join in?" Sora asked very sarcastically.

Demyx looked around and saw Sora and his cronies. He was about to run, but he then realized that they didn't know whom he was without his coat on.

"Yeah, come on in." Demyx said trying to disguise his voice with a deeper and more serious tone.

Sora, Donald, and Goofy removed their weapons and every heavy garments and joined in with Demyx.

From a far, Axel came into the scene. He noticed Sora, Donald and Goofy. However, he really had to look to see Demyx. Axel was astounded that the trio didn't recognize him yet. He then thought of an idea, he stayed within the shelter of the roofs of the castle and when he reached Demyx's stereo he took off his coat, placed it besides Demyx's and joined in on the dancing. Demyx spotted Axel in the dancing group and somehow he realized that he didn't care if Axel was here dancing with him and the trio. Then very slowly each of the members from the organization came in with their coats off and started to dance. Then King Mickey and the entire crew from Disney Castle; followed by Riku disguised as Ansem and Kiari. Then Leon and everyone else from traverse town, joined in to dance. Demyx was getting annoyed with everyone, because now he was not dancing by himself, as he wanted. Demyx stopped dancing and went to his stereo. He then put on his coat and, put the hood up and over his face. He looked over the people that was dancing and did not see Marluxia anywhere. He pulled one of his members aside and dragged him to a dark corner.

"Xigbar, have you seen Marluxia?" Demyx pulled off his hood, so Xigbar could see who was talking.

"No, have you?"

"Yeah, before everyone showed up." Demyx sighed. "How are we going to get rid of the others?"

"I don't know, but the organization members, except for Marluxia, knows what is going on."

"Ok, here is the plan. Tell everyone that is not in the Organization to get out, tell them anything you want if that doesn't work. Just make sure they leave. Ok?"

"Ok."

Demyx took off his coat and placed it in the corner. Then went and helped Xigbar with the unknown guests. Once the room was empty except for the Organization members, Demyx left to find Marluxia as the other members moved inside.

Demyx went to the castle and searched for Marluxia everywhere. He finally found Marluxia in Xaldin's room. He went up to him, and found that he was staring up at Kingdom Hearts.

'Hey Mar, what up?"

"I'm s...oh, it's you Demyx. I thought you were Xaldin."

"Are you all right?"

"Yeah...where is everyone? This place seems eerie with everyone being gone."

"Come on Mar, I'll show you where everyone is. And about what I said earlier, forget about it."

"Really Demyx? You mean that?"

"Yeah.., hey, you're the only person here that doesn't try to get all of the attention when you dance. So what do you say?"

"What do you mean?"

"Are you still up for that dance?"

"Yeah."

"Then cheer up. You'll get your dance."

"Dem, where are you taking me?"

"Where I was earlier... Don't you remember?"

"Yeah, that was where you said that you didn't want to dance with me."

"Well that is where I am taking you."

"Oh. Is that where everyone else is?"

"Yeah. Come on."

Demyx lead Marluxia to the dance party. However, when they came through the door Demyx ran to his spot in the dark; the music was off and lights were off. It took only a few seconds until the lights were turned on and everyone yelled "surprise" to Marluxia.

"What is all this for?" Marluxia asked.

"For fun; you know we haven't had a party for fun in a long time. Demyx thought it would be a great idea to throw one." Saiix answered.

Marluxia turned to Demyx, who was now coming closer, and starred.

"It's a surprise party. Everyone had to keep it a secret from you, we all are sorry if you felt like you were being left out of something."

Before Marluxia answered Demyx turned on the stereo and everyone started dancing, and enjoyed their time at the party. Eventually everyone had gotten tired after all the dancing they did, so they all left leaving Demyx and Marluxia behind.

"So what do you say about that dance?" Marluxia asked, once they were alone. He also had a huge smile on his face.

"I...uh...oh...all right." Demyx stuttered. He was hoping Marluxia would've forgotten about it by this time, but he was wrong. 'Oh great...' Demyx thought to himself.

They danced and danced and danced until the CD was over.
