Chapter 10: Decisions for Love or Sacrifice

It has been months now, since the Disney Castle incident. Marluxia had moved in with Demyx ... Xigbar hated the idea, but gave in just a few days ago. They went on several dates...none of them regarding the club that they had went two for one of their missions. Demyx is getting worried that Trixan might want to hurt him or Marluxia for something they've done. Every mission they went on was together, occasionally though they had their own separate missions. That is less likely to happen anymore, since their relationship has grown tighter and stronger. Trianna had broken up with Xaldin and returned to Traverse Town. Axel was doing missions increasingly... always active doing something for Xigbar, so he is hardly here; and tensions are getting to a point where a fight would break out in the matter of seconds...

"Marly, we have to stick together on this mission. Xigbar doesn't want us to be late, again."

"Love, Don't worry. We'll still get the job done." Demyx smacked Marluxia across the face, with his bare hand.

"Listen to yourself. You sound like me when we had that gay club mission. I'm sorry, love, but I'm not going to play along this time. Xigbar told us to get rid of the heartless and that is what we are going to do first, we'll play later. Okay?"

Marluxia had his hand where Demyx had smacked him. "That hurt, love. You didn't need to smack me that hard. I'm probably going to get a bruise now."

"You did to needed to be smacked that hard. Xigbar told us 'work first, play later'...he tells us that every mission we go on. When are you going to get that through your head, Marluxia?"

Demyx only calls Marluxia by his full name when he tries to knock some sense into him. Marluxia was only smacked that hard was when Demyx wants him to get his head out of the clouds.

"I'm sorry, love. I'll do work first... now what is it that he wants us to do?"

"Xigbar wants us to eliminate the heartless in this world."

"All of them?"

"Yes all of them."

"But..."

Demyx had raised his hand only to point out where to start, but Marluxia thought it was to smack him again, so he stopped complaining.

"Now you take care of that side and I'll take care of this side." Demyx went off towards the right as Marluxia went off towards the left.

Marluxia fought off about a hundred heartless; when he saw a heartless sneak up on his lover. Marluxia moved only a few steps, took a swing with his weapon and killed it with one swing. He then returned to the other heartless that was coming up on him fast. As he was fighting, he moved farther and farther away, without realizing it. By the time he had reached a building, he turned to see where Demyx was.

Demyx was far off to the right and was fighting more heartless then he could handle. He wanted to call Marluxia, but he knew that he was out of range and Marluxia wouldn't hear him in time. Demyx looked for Marluxia but he couldn't find him at all, this only made Demyx work harder. Therefore, he could look for his boyfriend quicker. Demyx killed over two hundred and ninety-nine, when the heartless stopped coming after him. He ran over to the last time he saw Marluxia and he had no luck.

Marluxia was still over at the building the heartless had pinned him up in a shadowy corner and was now coming to him in-groups of ten or more. He knew at this point that there was no way out of this, unless his lover came for him and helped him out. However, he didn't know where Demyx was so calling him. Might be the last thing he'll do. He caught a glimpse of Demyx looking for him; he then thought about it and acted. He did one of his blossom attacks and killed most of the heartless.
