"Don't do that!" Levi said as he snatched a beaker from the red haired student's hands.
Levi sighed and dumped out the liquid that was now potent, shielding his nose from the smell.
"Idiot," He mumbled under his breath.
The kid looked sheepishly at Levi as he returned the beaker to him, Levi giving him a look that told him he should have known better than to mix the two chemicals that he had been using.
Levi motioned with his head to get back to work, "Tch," and the student scampered off to his table to analyse the sample that he had nearly messed up earlier. Levi straightened his lab coat and looked out the window that was in the left corner of the room, the sky overcast and it looked as though it were going to rain.
A knock at the door caught Levi's attention and he walked over to it, opening it to find a tall brunette standing at the door.
"Yes?" Levi asked.
"A letter for you," The man said.
Levi thanked him and grabbed the letter into his hands to look who it was from.
Dr. Hanji Zoe
Levi ripped the letter open, going to sit down at his desk in his office that he had now had for the past year since taking his role as lead researcher for the university. He looked out into the lab to make sure that none of the others were doing anything stupid before heading into the office and closing the door. It smelled clean, his desk taking up the back right hand corner, a couch and a coffee table on the left and a world map as well as many papers with math or chemistry littering the walls. He sat down on the black couch and brought the letter out of the envelope, knowing that this was the letter he had been waiting for for the past month.
Hello Levi, I hope all is going well and that your research is coming up with a lot of results. I bet it is! Actually, just the other day I received a letter from Dr. Morden saying that you have been making a lot of progress and brought a lot of order to the lab, I wish I was there to see it and didn't just have to hear about it. Anyway, Mike and I are doing well, the job here is a lot of fun and it makes you feel like your making progress. I'll tell you more about it when we get back since writing it all down would take FOREVER! I also am technically not allowed to tell you what we are doing until it's over so, there is that as well.
I hope the apartment is still serving you guys well, it's still not a bother for us to pay for it so Levi please stop sending us money! The $100 that you sent is in the envelope for this letter, don't you dare try to send it back here or I will just send it right back and you know I will!
Now on to the serious matters. Mike and I have been asked to stay another year on the team that we are with. Actually we were asked a few weeks ago and after much thought we have decided to accept the offer, we may be moving away from London now to a different area. It's close to a radio factory so I'm told, but I'm not quite sure where on earth they mean exactly. Some place called, if I remember correctly, Bletchley Park. But because of this Levi, Mika and I want to ask you to please take care of the apartment for a longer period of time. This is no longer us being nice it is actually a need, we cannot lose the apartment for when we get back.
All is going well here despite the war, nothing has happened here in London so we are safe, don't worry about us. Tell the others that both Mike and I send our love!
