Chapter 8

Joel's POV:

I watched as Lizzie went limp in my arms and the doctor took her from me. Thoughts ran through my head, 'Hope will be fine, so will Lizzie, it will all be ok....But what about Luke and Lily? Where are Luke and Lily?' I snapped out of my haze, and looked around the helicopter hurriedly.

"Where are Luke and Lily?" I said to no one in particular. Lizzie's doctor popped her head out from the room that Lizzie was in and looked at me in confusion.

"Were they not with you? What about your companions?" She said, coming fully out of the "Screaming Lizzie Room"

"I don't know where they are either, I thought that maybe they would be here in the waiting area." I said in despair. The doctor looked around, heard Lizzie and motioned for me to come with her.

I walked into a small white room, Lizzie was sitting in a chair her eyes as big as plates talking non-stop about Hope, Luke and Lily.

"Where's Hope!" She demanded from me. She stood up and put her once delicate hands on my shoulders.

"Umm....She's fine, I'm sure." I stuttered.

"WHERE IS SHE?" She screamed loudly and intensely, "WHERE ARE THEY?!"

"Lizzie, calm down, it's going to be ok." Her hands were hurting my shoulders so a grabbed them and held them. Her big blue eyes were locked on mine, growing big with intensity.

"Are you sure? Are you sure it's going to be ok?" She whispers, her eyes getting glossy.

"Yes," I whispered, no uncertainty slipped through. I ignored up the doctors glare as I kissed her, sat down and patted my lap. I wrapped my arms around her scarred body and rocked her till she started breathing slow. I placed her down on a blow up mattress and turned to leave. A nurse was in my way.

"Excuse me ma'am." I said politely.

"No sir, you need to come with me."

"I'm going back to check my daughter, please move."

"I need you to leave the aircraft and move to travel on ground."

"I'm not leaving my fiancé and my child!"

"You have caused more pain than good. Please follow me sir!" She tried to grab my arm.

I dodged her and said, "I think I just did you a favor!" I pointed at the peacefully sleeping Lizzie, "Excuse me but I'm going to check on my daughter." I pushed passed her and sighed. I headed to Hope.

2 days later.....

Lizzie's POV:

I've been trapped in this room for 3 days now. People come and go, telling me it will be ok and that they are taking us somewhere safe. I keep asking questions about Hope, Luke and Lily but no one ever answers me! The only person that will tell me anything, is Joel.

I sat on his lap, and he talked softly into my ear. A nurse glared at us, and Joel asked her to leave and she said that she was just here to keep an eye on us. What does she think is going to happen? I don't know, but I don't like her.

"How have you been doing, love?" Joel stroked my hair softly.

"Not well, this nurse keeps on watching me and people keep on coming in and telling me nonsense. I hate it." I buried my head in his shirt. We sat there for a long time, then I lifted my head up and said, "How's Hope?"

Joel's POV:

I was sitting with Lizzie, stroking her hair and ignoring the glaring nurse, when the question that I had been dreading came up. She looked up at me, her eyes begging me to answer what no one else had.

"Well...She's doing better, I guess. She is still in a coma, they are trying to clear out the infection." The nurse's eyes shot bullets at me. She started to walk over. I stood up.

"Sir, I think it's time for you to leave."

I opened my mouth to speak and Lizzie stepped out from behind me, "No it's not, he can stay." She put her hand on my shoulder.

"No, you don't make the decisions here ma'am." Said the nurse.

"I'm calling the doctor. Please step away." I said.

"NO!" She put her hand on me.

"Doctor! Doctor!" I heard shuffling and I felt Lizzie drop behind me, I turned around and the nurse raised her hand and hit me.
