The princess continued to see the kitchen boy. She'd visit him in the kitchens and he'd sneak her snacks, or she'd sneak him into the royal chambers to bathe in the fancy tubs. And sometimes, just for kicks, they'd go into the garden and see how many trees they could climb together before they got caught. When the princess needed the assistance of a servant, she'd always request his service, and he'd happily come. She loved his friendship and he loved hers. They were perfectly matched. She started to think that maybe being best friends with a kitchen boy wasn't so bad.
