Lullabies

chapter 22

It's been 2 hours since I got here and already for the majority of the time I've spent sleeping. Alex joined me, I had a conversation with Jack earlier, he had informed me that Alex hasn't been able to sleep since they left for tour. 

He says it's because he's not with me, but I think that there's another reason that he just doesn't want to talk about.

Currently, we are both still laying in bed, he's on his phone while I'm fiddling with the hem of the sheets. I let my head hit the wall, causing a small thump "Ow" I muttered to myself, rubbing the back of my head. Alex turned his head towards me "You alright?" he lightly smiled, I gave him a lopsided thumbs up before scooting down on the bed.

Once I got into a comfortable position, I reached for my phone that was on the nightstand, it fell. I let out a sigh before reaching down to get it. My back cracking as I do so. I stopped once I had both hands on the ground "Alex, help?" I chuckled lightly before I felt two hands on my waist, he pulled me back up "Thank you"  I kissed his cheek before leaning against his arm.

I started feeling cramps in my lower abdomen and sucked in a breath before leaving a distressed facial expression on my face "You alright?" he asked, worry laced through his voice. I shook my head yes "Yeah I'm okay, just cramps" I groaned before yawning a little bit. He looped his arm around my waist before dragging me onto him. 

I hid my face in the crook of his neck before wrapping my arm around his waist.

He let out a small sigh before pushing his hair back "Alex, what's wrong?" he sat up before shaking his head "Nothing, everything fine" he turned to me with a small smile "Promise?" I held out my pinky, cliche I know. His pinky joined with mine "Promise" he pulled me in closer to him, close enough to where our noses touched.

I looked into his eyes and smiled "I love you Sarah" his words effortlessly slipped off of his tongue. I started to feel what you would call 'butterflies' erupt in my stomach as a smile spread crossed my face "I love you too Alex" effortlessly I wrapped my arms effortlessly around his neck and leaned into his lips.

Soft, warm, sweet and full of love. That's what the kiss felt like, hell that's what every single one feels like between us. Sadly, we had to cut it short due to a knock on the door "Come in!" Alex snapped before we fell against the headboard.

Jack popped his head in "Sorry but Sarah have you talked to Lin? She's not answering my calls or texts" I shook my head "No I haven't, I'll try calling her" I lifted myself off of Alex to grab my phone before laying back down.

I searched for her contact 'Lin Roberts' in my contacts before finally finding it. I pressed call while holding the phone up to my ear. 

It rang a few times before she answered with a yawn "Hello?" I chuckled into the phone "Did I wake you up?" she let out another yawn "No I needed to get up anyways, studying with Drake and his friends later, but what's up? Hows Alex?" I looked to Alex before Jack "Do you think you can call Jack? He's called and texted you but you wouldn't answer, but since you were sleeping that makes sense" I looked to Jack and he had an 'I'm stupid' look on his face "Mmm yeah I'll call him, and you never answered my question" what question? Oh! 

"Oh yeah sorry, Alex's is good, better now that I'm here but I don't know whats going to happen when I leave" I looked over, and his face fell. I slipped my fingers through his "That's good, and I'm sorry. Tell Jack I'll call him when I'm out of the shower?" I motioned towards Jack "Hear that?" he gave me a thumbs up "He heard you, love you Lin talk later" a yawn slipped through my lips, now I'm tired "Okay love you too!" she hung up.

Jack left the room, waving to us before shutting the door. I fell back and let out a small moan as my head hit the pillow. I played there for a few minutes before Jack walked back in, looked to have tears in his eyes "Jack whats wrong?" he shook his head "How can the two of you stand it? Being away from each other?" before sitting down on one of the armchairs.

I sat up, so did Alex "It's hard, let me tell you that. But, we've learned to deal with the distance after a year or two. Granted sometimes it's hard being away from her but, all I think about is having her in my arms again, seeing her smile, hearing her laugh, being able to kiss her" I looked at him, a small smile forming on my face as I listened in 

"That's what I think about whenever I miss her, I try to call, text and Skype her whenever I get the chance" his chin settled on top of my shoulder before Jack spoke up again;

"I guess I'm not used to it, you two have been together a lot longer than Linox and I have so there's one advantage that you all have against us" he pointed out "And, you two were always there for each other, Lin and I weren't" he frowned

Soon I spoke up; "But here you guys are! You've made it this long, don't give up on her" Alex popped in causing Jack to smile "Thanks, guys, I'll leave you two alone! We're going out to eat for dinner!" he winked before exiting the room.

I turned back to Alex, who started playing with the hem of my shirt before sliding his hands up my back, ending at my bra before attacking my neck with his lips "Stop it" I hissed as he slowly bit down on the skin, I could feel him smile before I just gave up and threw my shirt to the other side of the room.

He shoved me off of him before discarding his shirt as well as his jeans before climbing back on top of me.
