(sorry this took so long!)
The next morning, I walked down the road to get to the park; the sun was just coming up. I was up all night, tossing and turning. I couldn't sleep from seeing my mother now a guy, and leaving, just so suddenly. Getting the news that I'll be leaving too? It's too much...
I stuffed my hands into my pockets with a small huff.
"What am I gonna do?" I asked myself.
The night before, I called Nin and asked him if he could go to the park at the break of dawn. He said yes, but because he taking care of his younger sister, so he'll have to bring her.
I got to the park and sat on one of the swings. My hands still in my pockets; I saw my breath in the cold morning air.
"Nix!" I heard a voice from behind me. I turned too fast, which made me loose balance on the swing. I couldn't catch myself since my hands were in my pockets, so I fell on my back. The ground was hard and cold, so I just laid there.
Nin peered over me.
"Dude, are you okay?" He asked me.
"Yeah, you just surprised me." I said looking up at him.
"So," Nin yawned. "Why did you want to meet so early?" he asked me.
"Do you have your sister on your back?" I asked slowly, finally standing up. I saw her little head on his shoulder blade.
"Yeah," He looked at her. "She was falling asleep while walking here, so I put her on my back!" Nin said happily. I smirked.
"You're weird." I said.
"That's my middle name!"
"No, your middle name is Yama." I said losing my smirk.
"Shh! No one knows that besides you!" He said laughing.
I laughed with him.
"So, why are we here, so early?" He asked me.
"I need to tell you something." I said looking down.
"Wait.... are you coming out?!" He asked.
"What?!?" I yelled, blushing.
"Sorry, by how you act, you act, kinda girly..." He said quietly, his own blush showing on his cheeks.
I sighed.
"No, I'm not gay, and we're too young to find that out!" I told him.
"Hey! I'm turning thirteen next year, so are you!" He smiled, carefully taking his sister off his back.
"I know... But, I'm-" I paused and sighed. "I need to tell you something." I said to him.
"Mmhm?" He asked.
"Well, two things."
"Oi! Haha!" He laughed.
I smiled, then frowned.
"One, my mother is transgender now."
"Wait, your mom is a guy? how?" He asked me.
"Don't ask me... Two, I'm moving in with her in Kyoto in... Five days." I said looking down once again.
"Wait, you're moving? Kyoto is farther than you think!" He told me.
"Yeah, well, it's my parent's decision. I have no say in it." I said carefully.
"This... is more shocking then I thought. I just thought your dad was getting remarried to his friend." Nin said setting Serenity in the ground and sitting next to her.
