Waking up to a cold room wasn't pleasant. Haku was just knocking on my door.
"Mmmm." I said sitting up.
"Good, you're up. Look out your window. We were not expecting that. It's only September." Haku said.
"What?" I got out of bed, opened the curtain to the window, to see... A fresh powder of white stuff on the grass.
"But it was sunny yesterday!?" I yelled.
"Yeah... I know. Not pleasant to wake up to that."
"You can say that again." Haku laughed.
"Well, I'm starting breakfast, want anything specific?" He asked.
"No, surprise me." I said still looking at the fresh powder of coldness.
"Stupid snow." I whispered. I stepped out of my room, now wearing a large shirt and jeans.
"Smells good. What is it?" I asked walking into the kitchen.
"Just plain bacon and eggs." Haku said.
"Mmmm! Bacon!" Haku laughed.
He put down a plate which held two fried eggs and three pieces of bacon.
"Where did you ever learn to make bacon?" I asked.
"Donna taught me."
"You don't classify her as a mother to you?" I asked him.
"I do, but she's not my real mother. And my dad did try to take care of me, but he just didn't really succeed." Haku said sitting down across from me with the same food.
"Yeah, does the bad weather for snow affect your wrist?" I asked after eating some bacon.
"Some times. If the weather is really bad." He told me.
I nodded.
"I'm still sorry for you." I said cutting up the egg.
"You don't need to, you know." He said back after eating an egg.
"Yes, yes I do! You're my friend, and I will care for you!" I said looking at him.
"Thank you and I'll care for you!" He said back.
I smiled at him and he smiled back.
"But, one question." I said.
"Mm?" He asked with bacon in his mouth.
"What day is it?" I asked.
Haku swallowed.
"It's Wednesday."
"Really? Wow." I said before eating my last piece of bacon.
"Yep." He said standing, grabbing my plate and put it in the sink.
"Who's gonna do dishes tonight?" He asked.
"YOU!" I said quickly and ran into the living room.
I heard Haku laugh from the kitchen.
"Okay, but next time it's yours." He told me.
"Okay, okay."
