"Dawn.. Dawn wake up. You need to get ready for school," Blake whispers, lightly shaking me.
"But I'm so tired," I argue.
"No buts, you know I love you, but you need an education, and you know you can't afford to keep missing days."
"Fine, come inside with me then."
"Okay, okay," he chuckles, holding his hands up in defeat. We get up and he carries me to the house. My mom is gone on business. Again. He takes me to my room, setting me on the bed. He walks over to my dresser, and begins throwing the clothes for me to wear on the bed next to me.
"Do I tell him?"
"What?"
"Do I tell Tyler what he did to me?"
"Don't you think he should know? Although he'll probably deny it to keep his reputation, but hell, you're telling the truth."
"Okay.. I'll tell him today."
"Come here," he says, pulling me into a hug.
"I'll tell him during free period."
"Okay, and I'm always here for you. Now get dressed, we're gonna be late," he said with a smile.
I smiled back and kicked him out of my room for a few minutes while I got dressed.
After changing, I grab my school bag, and head out to the kitchen, where I see Blake snacking on all my food.
"Blake! That's my food!" I exclaim, laughing.
"Now it's mine!" he shouts, with an evil grin, "Now let's get going."
The drive was short, but nice. We arrive at school, and as Blake turns his car off, I see Tyler pull into the spot next to Blake. He gives me his signature smirk, along with a wink, jumps out of his topless car, and heads to a group of ditzy, blonde cheerleaders.
"Don't let it get to you," Blake says thought clenched teeth, gripping the steering wheel very tightly, and relaxes when I lay my hand on his shoulder.
"Same goes for you, Blake."
I get out of the car with Blake, and give him a hug before heading to my first period. Boring old history. Mr. Riddle seems to be just as bored as the rest of the class. I doze off multiple times until the bell rings, signaling the end of first period. I grab my stuff, and walk out of the classroom. On to math. I think math hates me just as much as I hate math. Ms. Robins is a terrible teacher. I decided to skip her class. I Went to the ISS room, the supervisor, Mr. Chappell, loves me in there. I spend the rest of the day there, only to leave my school sanctuary when the bell for free period rings. I begin to dread what's about to come up. I go to the cafeteria. He's in there all right. Surprisingly, he's alone. I walk into the table he's at and sit across from him. He doesn't even look up.
"Look, Tyler--"
"What?" he asks, annoyed.
"I.. Uh.. I just wanted--"
"Just spit it out. What. Do. You. Want?"
"Tyler, I'm pregnant."
I see a look of worry in his eyes, but it's gone so quickly, I'm not even sure it happened.
"Why is that my problem?"
Shocked by his answer, I almost start crying.
"Because.. It's yours.."
"You can't know that."
"But I do. You were the only one," I say, so close to shouting. I stand up and head to the bathroom, unable to reach it before the tears begin to fall down my face. I slump down to the floor against a wall. I don't know where I am, but I just don't care. He denied it. How dare he. He will have absolutely no contact with this baby.
"Dawn? Dawn are you okay?"
I look up to see Blake's worried face.
"He.. He denied it."
"I told you. You that's who he is. I'm so sorry. Come here," he pulls me into a hug and rocks me back and forth in the hallways until the final bell rings. He stands me up and pulls me with him and walks me to his car and we sit down inside. He looks over and sees Tyler jump into his car, as if he's just way too cool for doors.
"I'll be right back," Blake says and gets out of the car before I can react. Already he's outside Tyler's car, holding him by his shirt collar, and punches him once, square in the face, and is back in the car before I can fully register what just happened. He turned on the car and pulled out of the student parking lot and drove to my house. He pulled into the driveway, shut the car off, got out and went around my house, straight to the back yard, to the tree house, I assumed. I got out and followed him straight there. When I reached the top, I saw him in the corner, crying.
"Blake? Are you okay?" I ask, placing my hand on his shoulder.
"I can't stand what he did to you, and then he denies his own child. Please tell me you're not going to let him see the baby. He doesn't deserve you, or that baby," he said, in tears.
I sat down and hugged him from behind,"No, he won't be a part of this baby's life at all."
