"How would you react if Lola were to die today?"
The question shocked me, the fact that she was so straightforward about it.
I wasn't going to answer it, I refused to think about that. It won't happen, of course it won't.
I will not live in a word without her.
I won't.
I won't.
I won't.

"We're so sorry to tell you this, but, we've lost her."

Countless arms hugged me, but I didn't need hugs. I heard people talking to me, I couldn't hear what they were saying. All I could hear was the sound of the thump of Lola as she fell to the floor.
Thump, Thump, Thump.
A stethoscope was pressed against my chest as I lay in my bed.
"Her heart rate's very fast." The doctor said to whoever was in the room with us.
As soon as we'd got home from the hospital I went straight to the bathroom and locked the door. I didn't cut, I didn't do anything.
I didn't want to feel pain, I didn't want to feel anything.
I was numb.
I couldn't feel.
I couldn't sleep.
I couldn't think.
I didn't want to think.

"We've discovered the cause of the untimely death."
I didn't want to hear this. It was my fault. I didn't need it to be spoken out loud.
"Lil, did you hear him?" The voice of Riker ran through my head.
I hadn't been listening.
"It wasn't your fault. You only knocked her unconscious. You had nothing to do with the coma."
"It appeared that she was extremely malnourished. Her body had barely eaten anything in weeks before she came here. When was the last time you saw her eat?"
I thought about that. I hadn't seen her eat.
"Had she shown any signs of an eating disorder?"
***
Lola died from anorexia. It was nothing to do with me.
It was then that I realized how dangerous eating disorders could be.
She hadn't been eating for weeks, maybe even months, and it killed her.
It scares me, the fact that there's people out there who worship Ana.
Ana is evil.
She killed my twin.
